Frank Jewelers — Local services in Freeport

Back in 1974, I bought a new diamond imgagement ring from Frank Jewelers. A few months later, I took it in for a cleaning. I believe his name was Mark as the help at the time. Being a newly part time hire, he was a high school student. I went to pick up my ring a couple days later and as I looked the ring over, I noticed a sizeable chip near the bottom of the diamond. As I brought it to his attention, he denied any involvement. I then asked for the owner. I explained to the owner in detail there was absolutely nothing wrong with the diamond when I brought it in and they reviewed it finding no flaw. He came up with nothing but excuses on how the diamond could have chipped at the bottom of the diamond while wearing it. Needless to say, I was not happy about being lied to as well as there was no accepting to admitting responsibility or accountability for their mistake. Nor any alternative customer service for any customer satisfaction. The customer service was definitely way below subpar. As time went by, a number of years later while visiting friends and family in Freeport, I ran into Mark. He recognized me and approached me openly admitted chipping the diamond. He further stated the reason he lied is he was new and didn't want to lose his job. I told him it was the wrong thing to do and should've admitted it when it happened in the first place. Always very pleased with the service and expertise of staff at Frank Jewelers. Most recently Deb helped me choose an emerald necklace for my great niece and a crystal bracelet to complement it for her mother my niece. Since I was shopping during the pandemic, Deb had to send me photos and discuss over the phone the options I was interested in. It worked out just fine and I was grateful that they were able to accommodate me. The gifts were delivered on time over Mother's Day weekend. I'm pleased to report that my two year old great niece loved her necklace so much that she only takes it off at naptimes and bedtime! Although I love to stop by and see the lovely items in the store, I am glad I called and you were able to help me find a beautiful gift even during a pandemic! I went in for an engagement ring and I wasn’t sure what I wanted. By showing them a picture of a style that I wanted to be close to they were able to offer me many different options with literally endless options on customization. In this search I had stopped at every jewelry store I knew of in Freeport and Rockford and this is the first place that took as much time as I needed to explain everything and make sure I knew what I was getting. Another big point is that they worked within my budget to get a ring that was beautiful without once looking at me like I was awful for not spending insane amounts of money.
