I've been going to this Sephora for years now, but today, it was surprisingly annoying for me when I got some mixed emotions from the workers at the Fashion Fair Sephora. I brought in a broken foundation (purchased over a month ago) to ask someone from the store to see if they have an extra nozzle for the pump and the girl helping me at first wasn’t sure so she got assistance from one of her coworkers. This dude comes in and the first thing he does is just squirt the foundation and put the cap back on with foundation smudging on the edges of the cap and the pump. I don’t know about others’ opinions.. Workers really need to learn how to be more mindful of a customer’s comfort level before just assuming they can just touch their things without asking for permission and just smear it how they like. I knew the product was bought over a month ago and I have a pretty good chance of not being able to return it. But the dude really didn’t ask me and brushed off his entire action by just saying that he’ll exchange it. Later, when I walked up to the register, the manager started explaining to me how they can’t exchange the product for me but they’ll wipe off the cap and the top of of container. It’s not about being able to exchange the product but really just messing with my foundation and thinking I am just okay with it. It was very unfortunate as I would have walked out with my used foundation happily without an exchange if my foundation hadn’t been dealt with without my permission by someone. But you smear my cap and bottle and offer to wipe it off, that's just not okay. At this point, I got mad and I just wanted it to be exchanged because I knew the receipt had expired but the guy really smeared my bottle and without offering an apology, he said he’ll exchange it. I felt really bad having to over-explain myself over something minor but please, if you work with cosmetics, not everyone appreciates a surface-level customer service where you talk smoothly but have no idea if your customer is comfortable with you. Listen to the person who is talking to you first and then go deal with their bought-in products. Making assumptions about customer queries won’t take you far in life bruh. :) Also, girl who helped me with my purchase today at the register was nice. Maybe, others should learn more...
Read moreWent in for a brow and lip wax Fatima was unprofessional and rude completely disregarded what I said I wanted for my brows and absolutely ruined them then she wanted to thin them out more I said no and for the lip wax she left two spots of hair making me look like the monk from nacho libre and I'm still picking wax out of my nose but what upset me the most is the attitude she had the entire time I apologized for being on the phone but I've never had that as a problem with others I've been doing my brows for over 20 years and the way she said "I can't do your brows if you're gonna be moving your face and talking you need to hang up so I can start" so I said okay but she didn't need to be so rude or upset by a birthday phone call from my sister and when I spoke to the manager on the phone after I left she was also very rude I was trying to just inform her that Fatima was rude, unprofessional and didn't listen to what I wanted and I got an attitude from the manager as well so now I have round brows and a mustache like the monk from nacho libre I had to go elsewhere and pay for them to remove the hair she left I even showed her how I wanted my brows my left brow just needed to be cleaned up. It was already shaped fine. My right brow needed a little bit of shaping, so what she did was she ruined both eyebrows and, and of course she was upset by the fact that I didn't love the eggplants that I now have for eyebrows and when she offered to fix them, I asked, isn't that going to make them thinner and I like my brows thick she said no that it wasn't going to make my eyebrows thinner. I'm not an aesthetician but even I know the more hairs you take off the thinner the brow is going to be I don't know who let her graduate or if she even has graduated I would imagine she had to to be working at a Sephora but she doesn't know what she's doing and neither does the manager it was literally the worst Sephora I've ever been to and the manager told me that a service that I've had done at at least seven different stores that I can think of doesn't exist in Sephora's at all i've had brow mapping at every Sephora that I've been to except this one if your store is subpar, that's fine, but don't say that Sephora doesn't offer a service that other stores...
Read moreI really love the Sephora outside of Fashion Fair Mall. Here is the reason for my review: I have thinner lips, particularly a thinner upper lip. I've never had an issue or insecurity with my appearance. An older worker approached me trying to sell me a lip plumping gloss. Which is fine, but she noticeably looked at and pointed out my thinner upper lip and told me a story about a friend of hers with " a thin upper lip who used this gloss and over time it permanently made her lip bigger"...As if i needed a plumping gloss to "fix" my thin lips. I strongly disagree with her assumption that I want fuller lips.
Now, I am not one to get offended or upset about things like this. However, I am worried that she may be approaching younger girls or women who aren't as secure with their appearance and trying to sell them a product by positioning it as if they have something on their face that they need to "fix". That is what makes me upset about my last experience at Sephora. I hope some one in management nips this problem in the butt before it really hurts someone.
I give this place a 4 star because I really enjoy coming here. Usually, people working here are friendly, helpful, and...
