(I've retracted my initial review as I was deeply destressed, mortified, pain stricken and still grieving over what had happened, and am rewriting it to better clarify what happened)
After stepping into the store with two friends to play Gloomhaven the owner angrily and cruelly told me to leave the premises as I was trespassing and he was going to call the police against me. If you were in my shoes during that crisis I'm sure many would felt as I did during it.
I was never notified through discord or any other means up to that point that I was not allowed at the store anymore, I was horrifically distressed and having a hyper tension attack throughout the whole day and even now three weeks later because of it.
The person making the allegations against me, who is even a friend of the people at the store who claim they feel uncomfortable about me being at the store (even though I was never notified of this whatsoever and not a single one of them contacted me after this incident), I've never once seen or run into at the store of all my times I’ve been present there. Why we couldn't find a peaceful compromise for both parties to win is beyond me.
I definitely feel as if the store owner could have better handled this situation, along with all of the employees there. I'm messaging the store now to peacefully resolve this situation as I was never allowed to self advocate for myself against gossip and evil allegations being spread behind my back without me knowing, about a situation many people were clueless about and did not have any of the context for.
The people who crucified me the most were the ones who listened the least to me.
I welcome the owner J's reply, also once you respond to the email I’m about to send I would be more then happy to retract this 1 star review and create a more higher one reflecting how things go.
Until then I cannot comfortably recommend this store to any other hobbyist or gamer after the way I was unfairly treated. Was the most painful and horrifying moment of my...
Read moreThis place is INCREDIBLE. My brother lives in Alvin, Texas, and I wanted to buy him a set of die while I was visiting from Michigan. We ended up spending several hours here that I won’t forget any time soon.
We walked in to the store and the cashier gave us a tour of the space - which is impressive. Along with a pair of private “conference suites” and the multiple tables for tabletop campaigns available to rent, they have an entire shelf of board games available for groups to come in and play for free.
But the part I appreciated the most was the miniature painting station. I have never heard of a business having a place set up for customers to use products like that FOR FREE.
Not only were we able to paint the miniatures we purchased using high-quality paints and brushes, but the staff gave us a crash-course in how to use everything, and even pulled out their personal paint kits and let us borrow their colors and brushes.
My only complaint? There’s no place like it back home in Michigan - or probably anywhere else...
Read moreOverall a great experience, A very knowledgeable and engaging staff. A good layout with lots of tables for any game you could play. A wide variety of table top games, paints, and other supplies for the hobby. A load of event for learning to paint and to learn and play table top games for new players and veterans to the games. Even if they don't have what your looking for they have no problem looking it up for you and getting it in or helping you find it. Overall if you've ever considered getting into and playing table top or are a experienced gamer and want to be part of a very lively and marvelous local community, this is definitely a grand...
