I really like the ownership and management here, but I think the concept needs refinement. The model is designed for open play, with players rotating after every game, and there are courts designated for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. In theory, this ensures players face opponents of similar skill. In practice, however, the system quickly becomes mixed, which is fine, but the bigger issue is that it doesn’t function as true open play.
My experience did not reflect the intended concept. Groups of players often dominate the courts with their friends, making it awkward for outsiders to rotate in. There seems to be a tight-knit group of intermediate and advanced players at this location who are not particularly welcoming to newcomers. Tonight, for example, I waited over 30 minutes to play and was turned away multiple times when I asked to rotate in, despite being on the beginner and intermediate courts. Open play shouldn’t require me to bring my own group just to get a chance to play.
The only time I’ve enjoyed playing here was when I brought my own guests. Ultimately, I canceled my membership after just a week and a half. I love to play at The Picklr, which in my opinion offers a much better concept and community for the same price. There, you sign up for open play with others at your skill level, and players actually rotate as intended. They also offer court reservations and complimentary lessons with pros, which add significant value.
Ace doesn’t offer much beyond open play, and because there’s no structure or reservation system, you never know how busy it will be unless you come during peak times. If you already have a group of friends who are members, this could be a good spot. But if you’re looking for a structured, welcoming, community-driven experience, I’d...
Read moreReally good looking facility, nice courts with good lighting, and super friendly staff. For $130 membership fee + tax, I wish there was a bit more offered. There are no clinics, guest passes or evening court rentals. Club does limited court reservations 11am-4pm. It’s great if you’re looking for a club with lots of open play opportunities. 3.5/5 for me based on what I'm looking for an indoor pickleball facility.
There’s 11 courts total. The current paddle stacking makes the wait times a very long, you pick a court and a wait for that specific one. During peak times, expect to wait two games. The paddle holders also don’t have a slider, so people have to physically pick up and move your paddle. Not a fan because paddles can get dropped by someone else. Maybe if they swapped to a universal, first court available system the wait times could be reduced. This is my biggest issue with their queue, waiting up to 30 minutes between games.
The Glow event was also cool looking. But it’s so hard to see, fun but you can’t see the ball well. The courts are too dark, the balls are too dim, music is a little too loud and it’s difficult to play. It might be better if they added lights on the courts, but I’ll skip the next event.
Pros: Good for open play, lighting isn’t too dark/bright, free balls, staff is friendly & helpful
Cons: No evening reservations past 4PM, no pros or clinics, very long wait times during peak times, no guest passes, a...
Read moreI had such a fun experience at ACE Pickleball Club in Frisco, TX! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel so welcome, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. I didn’t know a single person when I arrived, but by the end of the night, I had already scheduled times to come back and play again!
The entire space was super clean and well organized. The glow-in-the-dark pickleball session at 7:30 PM was such a fun and unique twist, it made the night unforgettable! I even grabbed some merch from the team to wear during the glow play, and the hats were amazing quality.
The snack options for purchase were also a nice surprise- unique, tasteful, and way better than typical rec center snacks. Even the restrooms were spotless, which says a lot about how much care goes into this place. I also loved that I could sit or stand near the court I was about to play on and chat with others it created such a friendly and community driven vibe.
Special shoutout to JP and Juan, they were so kind, patient, and helpful. This was my first time playing pickleball, and they took the time to explain everything, offer tips, and make sure I felt confident and included.
