Goodwill Store and Donation Center — Local services in Galax

In my opinion I wouldn't even give them one star. My fiance and I just went in to buy some things for our children. We went to the book area that states on the wall $2 for hardcover books and 10 for $1 for childrens books. So we picked out 20 childrens books. As we check out the guy rung is up and the price was definitely way over so my fiance stated that it should not be so high and asked why. The associate then called up the manager who said the books were $1 a piece all because they had chapters in it with a rude tone and very disrespectful, mind you there are only two signs that stated $2 hardcover and 10 for $1 children books. There are no other signs and other books do not have any stickers price or anything. Then the system went down and they said my fiance couldn't leave til the payment showed on their end although he clearly showed them on his phone where he was charged by them and they treated him poorly saying they didn't trust him. With all this my fiance is diagnosed with PTSD and has severe anxiety. They did this in front of everyone embarrassing him to the fullest. All because of some books that the manager and associates failed to do their job and lable them as they should. We have had multiple run ins with this goodwill and after this time we will no longer shop there. Most of the books shouldn't even cost what she said because most are torn up or colored in. My fiance clearly felt targeted because we do not look like your typical small town country people, we felt judged immediately. The manager there is simply the worst. Corporate needs to be more careful as in who they hire...

The newest round of workers are ridiculous, rude, and extremely unnecessary. They will push you out of the store regardless if you are spending money or not. They announce the store is closed 10-20 minutes before the actual closing time on a DAILY basis now and will even have workers stand at the door to deny customers entry into the store DURING BUSINESS HOURS, And if you do not get to the check out the SECOND they announce they are "closed" someone will littiraly come up to you and tell you to get out. This use to be my Favorite store i would stop every time i passed now, i can't even stand the thought of going because the workers AND MANAGERS are...

There is always a bargain to find... The employees very friendly and helpful... They have a public restrooms and they're open which is great because if you have been out traveling and shopping all day you need one... Plus the elderly people really need them and anyone with kid's... Everyone needs a public restroom at one time are another.. Some of the customers are not very friendly and I am a people person and I like to talk and meet people.... The only thing I didn't like was I couldn't try on clothes I bought.... Great prices and selections from nic nax's and infants to men', women's to plus sizes.... I will be...
