Me and Husband initially saw the store/gas station the night before our visit to pop in and grab some drinks. We were greeted with "You have 30 minutes!" by the older lady running the front. The rest of our transaction was pretty awkward to say the least but I figured maybe she had a rough day or she was tired. During our night visit we saw that they had food during the day and the pictures they had outside of the food looked delicious. So the next day my husband and I decided to try it for lunch. We got there about 2:30pm (10/12/2021), it seemed to be a slow time for them as no one but us and the employees were there. When we went to order our food the older gentleman (the cook) seemed irritated and not very friendly. Half of the menu was unavailable so instead of getting the chicken gyros like we wanted, my husband ordered the burger and I ordered the fried shrimp (big mistake). Despite the bad customer service from the cook and, once again, the older lady in the front, we paid $25.96 for our meals. Once we got our food I realized that it looked nothing like the pictures. I didn't expect everything to be perfect but on the picture it showed the meal came with crinkle fries and what we received was brown seasoned fries. We took our food and sat down at the tables they have in the front. It had a cute Mom and Pop Shop vibe but also an awkward one. I say awkward because while we were eating our food, the older lady from the front had a man stack boxes next to our table and then proceeded to have a business meeting with him at the table next to us. I'm not sure if they have an office area but the experience was all around awkward and unprofessional. The worst part of it was that I got food poisoning from the questionable fried shrimp that was served. The last day of our vacation was spent sick at the hotel. Moral of the story, always trust your gut... and read the reviews before you try...
Read moreCame in here for some water while I waited for the next trolley to pass. We had well over 15 minutes until the next bus so I assumed I had plenty of time to stop in grab some waters and cash out. There was a bit of a line which is fine I was kind of looking around in the meantime. I was making a mental note to come back and look around since prices seemed good until the cashier started arguing and getting into it with another employee. Then the gentleman In front of the line was having issues with his card and she was being very rude about it to him. She continued checking everybody out while constantly pausing to reprimand and yell at the other employee. That alone put me off of coming back there but then it was my turn to get checked out and AGAIN she leaves the register to complain and yell at the other employee and to the owner I think about it. By this point I'm visibly annoyed because it is now 5:55 which leaves me 5 minutes to cash out and run back to the trolley stop but I was trying to be polite so I said "excuse me ma'am I'm really in a hurry" she looks over to me and says "what is your problem?" Which immediately pissed me off but I said "I'm trying to catch the next trolley I really have to go" and she decides to come back with "maybe you should've come in here when you had more time" so I said "I had well over 15 minutes before you decided to take your sweet time and yell at that poor man instead of taking care of your customers" she said "well If you don't like how fast I work you don't have to come back here" I just said Oh don't you worry about that I wasnt planning on coming back here and I grabbed my stuff and left. Honestly I wish I had filmed her because the way she was yelling at this poor man and then yelling at Me when I was a paying customer was just absolutely ridiculous. Give your money to a store that deserves it, one who values...
Read moreI came into the store, just from the beach to get a TOWEL because mine was soaking wet from the rain and being in the ocean. I WAS wet, but not dripping at all. My shirt was just moist I guess you could say, and one of the employees came up to me and my friends, very rudely, and told me “you are too wet, someone is going to slip. You need to leave.” mind you I came in TO BUY A TOWEL. so I went back to my friends truck and got my towel, which was soaked, and went back in to buy a towel. Now realizing that I shouldn’t have purchased from there because of how rude she was about it, I wasn’t even allowed to speak, she just told me to leave.
Also don’t wash the towels with other clothes. It’s stained EVERYTHING.
Something more to add now that I remember. When we first arrived to Galveston we looked for somewhere to change into our swim wear, so we walked into this place, found the changing rooms, and changed. When we can out there was a worker standing in front of the rooms, that were made of a thin curtain. She looked at us like we were try to steal their cheap merchandise. Maybe don’t have changing rooms if your just going to...
