The band was good, and I felt bad for leaving especially when they caught us outside and asked why we were leaving. I’ve never had a bad experience here, and I come here every time I go to the beach. Tonight, we had what we thought was a friendly bartender. After quite a few drinks, she started to ignore us. Like looked at us, but served the people right next to us. We asked for our check and she ran our card without giving us the bill. Whatever, we’re on a date night. Gave her an 18% tip which I never do that low. Asked for a receipt and she gave us a $34 receipt when our tab was $87. Told her that wasn’t our receipt and she claimed that they don’t give itemized receipts. Ok, that’s fine, we just want our actual receipt. She gets manager and he comes and say that we don’t give itemized receipts. Well played! So we just had 85$ tab on which turned into 100$ w tip and yall don’t let us know what we just paid for? It’s like the manager was ON IT and immediately shut us down when his bartender was rude af. A staple that I won’t be back to. Watch your tabs people! And...
Read moreIf I could give this place a 0, I would. We popped in to check out the place, as we were intrigued by the name. We were also hoping to get a celebratory drink for my MIL's birthday. When we entered, we found ourselves a table and sat down. My husband approached the bar to order us a round of drinks, and before he could say anything, he was told by the bartender that she would need to check our IDs. My husband clarified if she would come by our table, she said yes. We waited for quite some time, and watched her chat to some locals who were already seated at the bar. She was chatting and looking at her phone, looking at a piece of tissue, chatting some more, looking at her phone again... everything but do her job and provide some service. She seemed quite disinterested in providing service to our table in particular. It wasn't busy that night, 6 people at the bar, plus the 4 of us. It definitely seemed like we weren't welcome. What a...
Read moreAs visitors to Galveston, it would make sense that one would look for local eateries online. Our hotel is not too far from this establishment called “The Poop Deck”, so we looked at the menu online and found it to be great to get something light for lunch. We get to this “Poop Deck” establishment (which is also a bar) and I walk up to the bar tender asking her where she would like us to sit and that we would like menu’s. She very quickly replied that they don’t serve food but that we could go down the street to any number of restaurants to eat. My question is this; why would they have a full menu online if they have no intentions of serving the food on it? If I could have given negative stars,...
