Of all the vendors I have dealt with during and the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Galveston Park'n Cruise has been the WORST! Long story short, I called more than 24-hours before embarkation to cancel because Hurricane Harvey has deemed the areas in and around Houston and Galveston Dangerous and under water, in addition to Galveston Port being closed indefinitely with roads leading to it closed. The older woman who received my first call said the "News was hyping up the situation' and that 'Galveston is dry, I am here and looking, everything is fine." I responded, in shock and dismay, "The roads are closed. We cannot physically drive to Galveston let alone park at the port." And she responds, 'The roads are not closed. So no cancellation fee will be waived." Was I going crazy? Was this a twilight zone episode? Is she really arguing with me about facts? Is it fake news to her? The state of emergency had been issued with rescue missions being dispatched to the area as we were speaking and she said "the news was hyping it up"? Do you want money THAT badly? To make matters worse, she lied (or misinformed - semantics) and said the only way we can get compensated is if the Cruise cancels. Well guess what? The cruise finally cancelled. So I called back and they said sorry, you still have to pay the $25 penalty. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The man who answered was just as rude, but styled with some snark. 'We can argue about it all day , and it wouldn't go anywhere. I also have 5000 people calling right now'. This is the worst customer experience I have dealt with. Lying, naive greedy and smart-ass employees. And for the sake of context, hotels have waived their cancellation fees. So it is industry standard to be humane about...
Read moreWas excited about the place and wanted to reserve a spot to park during our trip. On their website, they do not have the ship that we are sailing on listed. I called the phone number listed on their website and found out that it was an answering service. The rep could not answer all my questions. Since the website states that âDrive-Up customers are always welcomeâ, I asked the rep if I would be turned away if I were to drive up for a parking spot. Rep did not know. I asked to be transfer to someone that could answer my questions. She transfer me but no one picked up, I left a message. The next day, I did get a call back. I asked the same question, if I would be turned away since the ship we are sailing is not listed on their website. I was told that they would not allow me to park there since it was not a ship that was on their list. I informed them that their website was misleading since it stated that âDrive-Up customers are always welcomeâ. They insisted / stated that their website was correct and that I was the one not right. I did not want to argue so I just left it at that. So to sum up the above, customers that are sailing on the ships that are listed on their website are the only ones that will be allowed to park here. Even though their website states âDrive-up customers are always welcomeâ, it is...
Read moreWe have parked at this location many times in the past. This time however was horrible, We were returning from a cruise on 10-30 when the oil spill caused Carnival to go to a different terminal.. After numerous phone calls to the number listed on the website and confirmation email which didn't answer the phones until after 9AM, even though this was a emergency for their customers, we finally received a text stating that discount parking has shuttle service which will pick us up and they will be onsite waiting. WRONG!!! After going back and forth trying to locate their buses we found out there were none. The only way we could get to our 2 cars was to take a taxi at a price of $50 to the parking garages (blue lot). And then return to the terminal to pick up the rest of our group and luggage. This was after we paid over $200 for the parking. This is unacceptable. WARNING: DO NOT USE this company--they are not affiliated with Port of Galveston and leave their customers to fend for themselves. We cruise many times a year and always get covered parking but will no longer use this company. It was such an embarrassment since most of our group was first time cruisers and this was the nightmare they...
