Jack Johnson Park BnB — Local services in Galveston

I went to the beach for Easter today and on the way in I stopped to see the Jack Johnson statue. Unfortunately, it was closed. I also was surprised at how unkept the park was. The trees and bushes were not manicured. I am disappointed with the City of Galveston for not keeping up with the park and allowing the general public access to the park and statue. Jack Johnson (J.J.) was a major figure in the boxing world and not to mention he was the Heavyweight Champion of the World who was born in Galveston, Texas. He should be celebrated and his park should be kept up by the City out of respect for who J.J. was, where he came from and what he accomplished in the boxing world. Galveston has had only one Heavyweight Champion from there and his memory should be remembered and celebrated, especially from the City...
