I ordered a half chicken and wanted black beans with rice but I also wanted sweet plantains. So I said I would like rice topped with black beans and plantains and she recommended tacu tacu which says (R&B) on the menu and I assumed it meant black beans with rice. So the food comes out and the other cashier who was also there, he is as confused as I am and he tells her “wasn’t it suppose to be black beans” and she says “no I said canary beans” and I don’t recall her saying that neither does the other employee who works there. I said “oh I don’t think I heard that part but would you be able to please switch it out?” She said “yes, but you have to repay for whatever you want” (keep in mind the other employee just sat the food down and we haven’t touched the food yet). I told her I came last time and I never had this issue and I never even heard of canary beans on top of rice. She said that there is no one in the restaurant that would be able to assist me in my problem. She saw how my kids looked at the sides (I had ordered two tacu tacu sides) but still didn’t even try to fix the problem. Anyways this is the last time I come here, I will be going elsewhere from now on since I know other places that give way better customer service, she was pretty confident that she was right and the customer is wrong. I have not been treated like this at other places I have gone to eat and will definitely be going to other Peruvian restaurants. Oh and yes I ended up buying beans and they weren’t too great, you could taste the spicy onions more than anything which almost made my son vomit...
Read moreMy mom and I had high hopes for this rotisserie, but we were instead great with attitude, and it was our first time coming here. We live close by and saw it had a good review, so we wanted to try it out. We ordered a whole chicken, and we paid, but she didn’t tell us how long it would take for the food to be ready or that we were done by cashing out. We got our food, and we expected some sauces to be there. When we returned, we asked the lady if it came with any salsas, and she said you guys didn’t want any sides, but we assumed sides would be like fries, etc. We thought the sauce would be a part from the side. She could’ve also asked and assumed it was our first time because we didn’t know anything, and then I proceeded to tell her it was our first time. Her attitude changed for a second being nice to being rude again. She showed us what kind of sauce we could get; my mother asked if we could get two. Then she looked at us for a long minute and said, "Oh, I can give you all four of these. After looking at us and staring at us for a long time, we felt very uncomfortable. We put her attitude aside, and we were like, OK. Hopefully, the chicken would be good. We got home. The chicken is not good. It is plain, and I think it was already cooked and just reheated, and It tastes old and a bit sour. And for the price we paid, it was not worth it whatsoever, and we couldn't enjoy the food, and we don't like wasting food, especially for the...
Read moreOrdered from Doordash and my food was delivered fresh and HOT!! Tried the zarza and canario beans and they were both awesome and seasoned perfectly. There is nothing better than a fresh hand made pork tamale and this one did not disappoint!!! Prices are VERY reasonable and I will definitely be back to try some more Peruvian delights!!!!
Ordered delivery today and boy was I surprised! One star for the chicken salad always fresh and seasoned great. Croissant was hard and stale. Biggest problem is when ordering you are forced now to order a combo meal with a side and a drink for an extra charge. The side I wanted wasn't listed and I didn't want a drink. I love the fresh pork tamales but couldn't order them because I didn't want another side and drink! I would have spent $7.00 more if they let me order the 3 items I wanted and stopped trying to be slick with these mandatory add ons. SAD
10/25 Ordered delivery from Ubereats and it let me order individual items. BUT on Doordash you are forced to order a combo with each entree which is too much food and drinks for me. My tamale, canario beans and white rice were delivered hot fresh and delicious. Chicken salad sandwich was a bit dry but still very tasty!!! I love...
