I wish I could give 0 stars. To start off, I came in with my mom and her cousin because they wanted to come in. The employee (or owner, I don't know) made me feel uncomfortable right away. I am in my twenties, and I know this store is probably geared more for a different age group. However, I am not just going to just sit outside. She kept watching me to the point where I felt like I could not even pick anything up to look at at (such as jewelry). I don't know if it was because of my age or what because she did not treat my family the same way. I still walked around for a bit, and I noticed that there was some kind of fragrance in the air, which I really liked. I found the air fresheners, and was actually even going to purchase a sachet. However, since I am not from the area, I got my phone out to do a search of the brand, since I know I would be running out before being back up in Gaylord. She came up to me and asked in a very accusing tone "Are you taking pictures??". To which I told her I was not. She muttered something about not allowing people to take pictures of items in her store and gave a very vague/lame apology and walked off, but I know she did not believe me as she stayed no less than 6 ft away from me the rest of the time. I set the item down that I was going to purchase, and walked outside. I have never come across this kind of behavior anywhere I have ever browsed or shopped, and I will not be back. It was...
Read moreThis store is one of the worst experiences I have had in a store. The second I walk in the cashier lady tells me "I don't think there is anything for you here" I understand that because its all expensive clothes that I could've easily bought at a goodwill clearance bin. I continued looking for clothes that might not make me look like I just came out of a 2007 mom catalog. As I was looking at a flannel, the same woman kept following me around the store. Right as I unlocked my phone, the cashier lady walks by me puts her hand on my shoulder and says, "Do not take pictures of the clothes" I still do not understand why I would need pictures of literal trash on my phone. The worker was utterly disrespectful and throwing away money I could've spent. It might've been because I looked younger or not rich enough? I still think I should be respected as much as all the other soccer moms that go into that store. So basically do not go into this store unless you are, white, a wealthy woman in her mid 40s, a woman that buys expensive clothes to make it seem like all those years of being a sugar baby paid off when she can just go down to her local thrift store, or a depressed woman that spends her time wine tasting because her children don't...
Read moreI love denim capris with embroidered cuffs.... so I saw some in the window and went in. I am a business owner in a neighboring town, so I'm fully aware of seasonal tourism... it's how our business stays afloat. I walked through, and yes, the prices are high, about $150 for a pair of jeans. I could see women in their 20's - 40's wearing these cute frayed edge styles, but many of the tops did seem geared for a more mature generation. Home decor from Mud Pie and Kathy's Primitives. Good brands, again not cheap, I sell Mud Pie, so I know. Beautiful displays. Thought went into every detail. However, I said hello to the person behind the counter, and got no response. I made a round and did it again because I was surprised that at the start of the tourism season a store owner/employee would already be grumpy... most wait until Labor Day weekend to get grouchy. Not a peep. So I finished looking and the customers started talking to me... so nice. As I walked out I said thank you so much, have a good day, and didn't get a response from the employee. I'm sure we will go back and I'll try again, but maybe a word of advice to work on your welcoming demeanor and graciousness. May your business be blessed...
