Mall Business Office & Security - Discriminate & profile including the TWO BLACK security guards with who I have interacted, upon THEIR PERSONAL GRUDGES AND NEGATIVE OPINIONS AGAINST THEIR OWN RACE. Yes. I am a Black American female. Black-on-Black biased & discrim. has been for centuries that began during Slavery and Freedom, and it's growing worse, the more that more and "NEWER"/recently to the region, Black Americans 'types' move into suburbs, and especially if being a fairly high median income region as Geneva & parts of St. Charles, IL. I am an educator, & I worked in Geneva for lawyers.

I was profiled by a Black Amer. male security guard misusing his minimal authority to try to show 'power' but asserted BIASED against me (race), for lacking knowledge of laws & his personal biased & discrimination against his race. I asked if he was asking questions out of his personal curiosity or in mall & security capacity. He said security. I told him to walk away.

Went to report him for harassment & profiling me and my race. Asked young White receptionist if a manager was present & about mall coupons. She gave me the card for mgmt. & said hadn't heard of mall coupons. Black female unnecessarily assertively & misused privilege.

Geneva Commons is alright. There are several different strips of malls (Strip Malls) or plazas, along that general vicinity of Randall Road, between St. Charles & Batavia. The Commons is one of them. That stretch of road, with the malls, offers a variety of restaurants and shopping, from fast food to casual dining. I haven't seen fine dining, but there are some nicer restaurants, along those strips. There are a variety of stores from everyday shopping for groceries and clothing, to a bit more upscaled. There are some slightly upscale retailers for a variety of different shopping at the Commons and along that stretch of Randall Road. I just do not find that Geneva Commons offers anything superb or outstanding, certainly not above any other Strip Mall in that vicinity.

I believe that the stretch of Strip Malls are, or they function as, a group that offers something for everyone, with not one of the malls offering everything in variety. Geneva Commons is like most other nicer Strip Malls, in that retailers come and go. A favorite shop, restaurant, bar, or store can be gone in an instant. There are many vacancies at the Commons, which bring down the effect of being a finer (not Fine) Mall, and one that is doing great business, in my opinion. There are several different strip malls that are along the stretch of Randall Road, from St. Charles into Batavia. Because Geneva Commons does not offer Fine and Upscaled retail, such as do Fashion Outlets of Chicago, in Rosemont, and Chicago Premium Mall, in Aurora, could be one reason for why they lose business, and shops close, plus that there are many different malls right along the vicinity of Geneva Commons.

Up until about three, or perhaps four, years ago, when the Commons put on its final event, Geneva Commons used to have a summer concerts series, with the most popular local bands and musical entertainment, and other entertainment, as well. Why the Commons put on its final event, about three years ago, is unknown to me. It has nothing to do with the pandemic, because it was pre-COVID-19. The summer series brought out people to the Commons, including folks who'd been unfamiliar with it. Early arrival persons could promenade about the mall and shop, which was good foot traffic to the retailers. I think that no longer holding the summer concerts series events, is a reason for less traffic to the mall, which leads to retail closings. The summer series was also just plain good fun, plus it offered a venue, & being a nice outdoors venue, to the bands & musicians throughout the Chicagoland area, so that music lovers would have a place to go outdoors and check out live music.

The summer series is gone, & the Geneva Commons is average, otherwise; so I give it an average score of...

This is a cheerful place. You can get a smoothie at Jamba juice. And snacks. Sometimes they have events. The Cosmetic Company stores fabulous as is Sephora. The Cosmetic Company has amazing clearances and when they have the six for 60 it's just crazy. It's so fun to have a Fresh Market with such fabulous food. There's an old school Red Lobster with nice management. Shockingly we have a giant bookstore with do few left. Barnes & Noble is always great. It's nice to have a Jjill and a Chico's! Jo-Ann fabrics has lots of cool things to craft. There's a little bit of landscaping and it's always clean and their security outside. They run promotions as sweepstakes and contests as well. Interested in curious to see what's going in where h&M was. Looks like they put in a new dermatology type place in the center. It's fun to have the giant chess set. Miss the concerts! Too bad Charming Charlie's went under with coronavirus restrictions. Loss of business. Don't get to the giant sports store very often but it's very popular. A few other mainstream department stores hanging in. I could be wrong but I thought I saw that maybe a hair place was going to open up. A few other restaurants left. Always a nice...

I shop at Geneva Commons on a regular basis. 1) I purchased my Groceries at The Fresh Market! All my fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, meat. #Noteworthy: every Tuesday is chicken + ground beef half off. The chicken is free-range, w no additives, hormones, antibiotics, added chicken broth, + they are huge! The beef is also as described for the chicken. Try their home-made Italian sausage! Try free-range stake, rib eye my favorite. Yes it cost a little more, but we'll worth it. Their deli + cheese, French + Italian bread, to die for. Same as their pastry's! No, I do not shop for my canned goods, cleaning supply's, water, soda, milk there. Go to get what they do best, fresh produce that lasts for weeks not days, poultry + meat that is not full of toxin I, + If you bake purchase "Derout" Baking Chocolate Direct from Amsterdam! I use To order it from Holland After I was introduced to it on a vacation! Your Baking will will become manic! I call it my "Black Gold"! Tip* Red Box w Dutch Woman w White Hat on Cover! Oh! One of the best Orchid Stores Around!! **Tip Get the median size ones! Good Luck...
