Potbelly — Restaurant in Geneva Township

I've only been to Potbelly's once before and never at this location. Thought I'd give it a try because it sounded good and I had time to kill. I went in and stood in the queue while looking at the menu for a while, and then moved and stood by the Order Here sign. Wasn't sure if I was at the right area? There were people working behind the counter, but they looked busy with equipment and stuff, I didn't know if they were helping other people. I waited patiently for a couple of minutes before getting noticed by the male employee. He went in the back for a minute and then took my order, but needed to confirm every part of my order about 3 times. Forgot what kind of sandwich I ordered (avo turkey), if I wanted the avocado and cucumber on the sandwich (I ordered specifically for the avocado and cucumber!!)? During this time, the overly friendly manager noticed me, popped over, and rung me up. I stood and waited for my sandwich for a bit longer. I mentioned to the manager that I was killing time and was eating in the restaurant, but I was never offered a tray, cup of water, anything. The vibes here were very strange....

I ordered my Oreo shake before anyone else in line. They called out my shake to the person at the end yet when I got to the end, they hadn’t started making any of the shakes. I ordered an Oreo shake, and then a couple people behind me ordered two chocolate shakes, and then a strawberry shake. When I was time for me to check out, the girl said she would be right back because she was starting to make the shakes which I figured would be at one of mine. I then see her make a chocolate shake, go ask the other lady for help, and then when she came up to me and asked me what I ordered I told her my sandwich and an Oreo shake. She said she didn’t know if they could make the Oreo shake because they ran out of milk. So she used the last of the milk on a shake that wasn’t even the next person in line and I never got my shake. They weren’t that busy so even do not have the shake done by the time I got to the end of the line I was kind of surprised and then also the fact that they didn’t make my shake first...

My experience with Potbelly lately is not good. I used to absolutely love their chicken salad, now it makes me angry and grossed out! The last 3 times I have gone to Potbelly's this year, all 3 times, most recent tonight (9/22/22), have been unpleasant. One time, they basically gave me a mayo sandwich with celery, there was maybe 5 pieces of chicken. The 2nd time, there was a lot of chicken, but it was practically inedible. Almost every piece of chicken was so gross, I had to throw it out, like rubber. And tonight, thought I would give them another shot, was even more disgusting than the last time. I don't know how they can sell this disgusting chicken salad to people. It's as if they froze it and refroze it over and over again until it left a texture unknown to humans and should never be consumed by humans.
