9/22/17 Tonight I went to this store to return poor quality product. While there I spoke with a manager named Beth about the quality situation and what WE can do to make sure this project completes with an acceptable quality level... She was of absolutely no use in this regard...! In my asking about how I can partner with anyone inside HD to align materials toward project success, she questioned the local employee, COULD NOT EVEN reiterate what the quality flaw I demonstrated to her was, and most importantly demonstrated only her training in turning the problem at hand into a vendor/customer problem that does not involve the HD brand. This final point is most insulting as though she asked me how she could help, all she really did was disassociate HD from the problem. What help is that???
HD has enormous buying power. They do not, however; leverage this to assist on customer issues as there is no profitability in the manpower spent. It is more profitable to churn out high margin junk, collect whatever returns and then leverage credits with the vendors. It is amazing to see the volume of junk returned, yet when discussed, they are not aware of any such quality issues.
Zero stars again....
Though HD's stock price seems to hold up well in the public markets, it's only a matter of time...
6/16: Went to check status of special order that is past due in delivery only to find that the vendor rejected the order when originally placed as the HD system sent it incorrectly. The HD system also did not accept or forward the vendors reject. Basically, the error in HD's system of placing the order was left unattended until the customer inquired on it's tardiness Checking order status on line prior to inquiring did not show any error, only "processing" and the HD clerk needed to call the vendor as to why the order was not processed. Further, as returned special orders are subject to a 15% restocking fee paid to HD, HD should have applied their own policy of 15% off due to system issues on their behalf. They refused. 0 stars on...

We have had a deposit to have some windows replaced in our home since May, the salesperson that came to our home was fantastic.
Unfortunately, it is now September, they havenât replaced our windows that were originally scheduled to be replaced in early July (they cancelled and havenât told us why). Thatâs now almost 4 months without a scheduled date and a broken window in our home. Did I mention they took HALF of the agreed amount as a deposit for our windows to be replaced, we could do a whole lot with that cash right now.
Which comes to today. I went by because one of the temporary fixes for the badly broken window was causing a lot of warm air to enter the home and let some of the colder air from a room over with an AC unit in it out. I went by to buy some lumber to drill into the window sill for the time being. I was around the lumber area for about 15 minutes, debating on asking an employee if they could help me with having the lumber cut to size, but a couple just walked by. I approached a couple more and said hi, or hello, and they just kept doing what they were doing.
All around this year hasnât been a great year for our experiences with Home Depot, but my wife and I have had good experiences in the past and will keep coming in the future. I just want my...
Read moreWhatever the service may have been three years ago, this place has totally changed today (2014). I haven't been able to go 5 minutes at this Home Depot without someone saying hello and asking if I need help. I've always gotten help with a smile, and their staff is very knowledgeable. I've had the managers even walk me from aisle to aisle on big projects to make sure I get all of the right supplies, tools, and advice. I've never once been asked if I need help at the local Menard's or Lowe's and, when I have sought people out at those stores, they have acted like it's an inconvenience. Not so at the Geneva Home Depot. They get 99.9% of my business and will continue to if they keep up their current level of service. Prices are reasonable and in-line with other stores. Their selection is great too and they have rarely not had the item I needed in stock. When it's not in stock, they have bent over backwards to find it at the North Aurora Home Depot (my second choice if need be - also good service there, but it's not as great as it is in Geneva). In short, 5...
