Great ice cream and food. Their rewards program (Happylicious) needs work though. There are cards on every table that you can scan with your phone to sign up. Typical rewards program; points for every purchase to be redeemed when enough points are accumulated. The problem is though, that employees no longer ask whether or not you participate in the program when you order, and there is no way to add your points on their web site with your receipt. So what is the point in participating in the program let alone even having a program?
UPDATE 8/28/22 We still go to Oberweis Geneva about twice a week. Still get food sometimes, ice cream sometimes, usually both. Enjoy it very much. I'm sad to say however, that absolutely NOTHING has changed as far as the rewards program goes. In the 20 to 30 visits since my last review, we have yet to be asked if we are rewards members. Not even once. I must add however, that only once in that time frame did anyone fail to pull up the screen that asks for a tip. Let's be honest here, I realize that it is nothing short of a miracle to get young people to get a job these days, and you have to be very careful how you treat employees. And I always give a 20% tip, even though all someone does is carries your food or ice cream order about 30 feet to put it on your table. But it isn't the same thing as an actual server takes your order, brings your food, gets you drink refills etc. Their system is essentially asking you if you'd like to increase your bill by 20% for no reason. It's sort of a guilt thing and you feel bad (by design) if you don't give a tip. Pretty gutsy if you ask me. (I think that from now on a tip is going to be contingent on asking whether or not I'm a rewards member.) So the point is this: there are still signs all over the place and those little message flags as well as as big stickers on all of the tables promoting their rewards program. But the employees who never forget to ask for a tip STILL forget to ask whether or not you're a rewards member. And since to my knowledge there is STILL no other way add your points to your account let alone redeem them. And hey, it really isn't that big of a deal, it would only amount to a couple of bucks worth of ice cream once in a blue moon but on sheer principle, it's rather insulting. MESSAGE TO JIM OBERWEIS whom I've seen in the store a couple of times, either FIX your program or...
Read moreIts really sad to make a bad review especially for some where all my friends we're excited for. It's not that this location is tricking you but I can say they overcompensated on scenery. It's pretty but pay more attention to the food than how the restaurant looks. It looks like a 10/10 but the food is a 4/10 underwhelming and to pricy for what you get.
2/3 locations we're worth it (kinda) . This one is difficult because it's 3 locations in 1 so we tried all 3
•Woodgrain was good the staff was decent, they looked stressed and we're easily irritated. we got a pineapple and bacon pizza. It was kinda a sour pineapple but nothing could change that. It had a good crust though so it made up for it. All of the tea is really good!
•That burger joint had amazing cheese fries never talked to the staff. Got 2 cheese fries
Pizza and fries we're out within 15-20 minutes. I cannot remember the price but it wasn't to much I think it was in the 30$ price range.
This is where it gets sad. We were excited for oberweis.
••But oberweis was not worth it unfortunately. It took around 35 minutes to get our ice cream, 2 shakes and 2 waffle bowls. they didn't know what went with what ice cream. Even the manager... Everyone was confused or to scared to talk to us it seemed. It was around 50$ for 4 people. for the price oberweis cost I could've bought enough ice cream for a week in my local town. They also messed up our order but it took so long to get the ice cream that we couldn't get the order fixed because we had to leave.
Buy somewhere else honestly. It was good ice cream yes but not 50$ good. Idk if they accidentally overcharged us or something but it was ridiculous. All the staff was standing around doing nothing. Except talking to each other and looking all around confused. The shakes were eh just like normal shakes and the ice cream was average. Save your money.
If I came back it would be for the tea and...
