Sierra — Local services in Geneva Township

I recently visited the Sierra Trading Post in Batavia, IL, and overall, I found it to be a decent spot for outdoor clothing and accessories. The selection was pretty average—while they carry well-known brands at discounted prices, the variety can be hit or miss depending on the season. If you're looking for specific gear, it's best to shop early in the season when they receive their shipments.

One key thing to note: If you're shopping for winter gear, make sure to visit in October when they receive their one and only winter shipment for the year. By the time I went in February, most of the winter items were gone, and they were already rolling out spring gear. If you wait too long, you'll find very few winter options left.

That being said, the staff at the Batavia location was very helpful. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to assist in finding alternatives when stock was low. Maybe the worst retail experience in my life!!! Bought ski boots online that dont fit because the size is misrepresented so called and wanted to exchange for correct size. Corporate/800 number suggested I bring it to a store 40 mins away to return. Called this incompetent store 4 times ro reach someone and they confirmed I can bring it back between 9-9

The so called "supervisor" on Tuesdays at 6 o'clock disagreed with Corporate and the employee that took the call and shunned me away and couldn't have be less helpful if I paid her to be

What a cool store. This place is definitely for any adventure outdoor person. Selection was amazing and the inventory was vast. Prices are excellent compared to retail but this store is a sister store to TJ Maxx and Marshals so the prices can't be beat. Disappointed I did not stop here sooner to check out all the amazing jackets and active wear they offer. They even have kids outdoor clothing which is a plus. Highly recommend checking...
