Start off by saying, the loaders, the people that help you load your truck when you buy large quantities of building materials, are the best out of any store I've been to. They're quick they work hard, even remember your name.
This next part, just the Logistics and picking up small quantities of building materials on a regular basis, it has been somewhat of a disaster. Lack of communication between people that know what's going on and the people that don't. Having to wait for 20-60 minutes in customer service line, find the person that knows what's going on, get the order to pick up and then load.. Has made trips to pick up building material take at least an hour out of my day. Sometimes double that. Hour and a half for a store run 10 minutes away is absurd.
Some of these issues would be a lot easier if they could process phone sales. Which don't seem to be an issue at other locations. At this location I haven't got a phone till to work with different cards from the same person, different cards from different customers, even my card. This leaves the only other option to purchase online and pick up. Then tell him how it gets pushed over to shipping when in-store pickup is clearly selected. Very frustrating.
The reason I'm actually writing this review at all. Is the last time I went in there to pick something up, they didn't have it ready. No big deal, I'll get it myself. But instead of trying to be helpful the elderly gentleman in customer service decided he wanted to follow me around to clearly make sure I didn't "steal" anything. Are you kidding me?!?! I went to this store because it was close and we've spent between 7 - 8k in less than a week. And... I'm trying... to steal 2x4s?!?! That he knows I already paid for. So extra 2x4s. And decided to walk 5-7 feet behind me. On whatever planet that makes sense, it's not here. If the dude wanted to check my receipt on the way out, whatever. But he literally followed me and then told me I had extra items in my cart. Then "oh, guess not"
You guys really shouldn't have this guy dealing with customers. Just from that interaction I'll make sure if I had the option, I will go somewhere else. Probably should have stuck it a supply house anyway,...
Read moreI had a horrible experience with this location ordering kitchen cabinets. When I places the order in December, now is February, I was told that it would take a few weeks for delivery but even after 2 months my kitchen is still unfinished because I am still waiting for the order to be completed. After receiving the cabinets the first time, I received one badly damaged cabinet, three other cabinets had warped paint and cracks on the door and three cabinet doors were not the style we ordered. When we went back to tell them that those doors were not the ones we ordered they made us pay again to order the doors that we actually wanted in the first place. Bob, who put the order in somehow selected the wrong door style and we were punished for it. They offered to pay half of the price because we had papers signed, which said mullins doors, which we had no idea what it meant. We specifically explained and pointed out to the floor model that they still have in store and we were still asked to pay for half. We swallowed that charge. The doors that were brought had some cracks where the meet on the corners, their excuse was that that is normal. I am attaching the pictures of what they call normal and the picture of how it’s supposed to be. The reason I say how they are supposed to be is that it’s the same door just that one corner was done right but the other corners of that same door had cracks. Now, they said delivery on January 8th for the broken cabinets, which didn’t happen and moved it to February 11. The delivery company now is calling saying that they don’t have the cabinets but only doors. At this point I didn’t know what to do but to write this review just to warn other prospective cabinet buyers to be aware of their deeds and think twice before you order kitchen cabinets form this location. I always had good experiences with this store when it came to buying other items but it was horrible buying cabinets from them. I am never ever ordering anything...
Read moreMy wife and I visited the Home Depot Westerville Store on Thursday, May 5th, 2022. It was about 45 minutes before the store closed and we needed help selecting blinds for our windows. We had some questions for the person who worked in that department considering this would be our first time purchasing and installing blinds. One of the employees was assisting the forklift operator and made it a point to quickly reach out to Dom, a gentleman who worked in that department. He mentioned wanting to get us the best person to help and within seconds Dom arrived. Dom waited as my wife and I went back and forth trying to make the decision on which style, color we wanted to pick. Waited as we tried to determine if this would be a temporary solution or if we should make it the one and done purchase. Dom shared his opinions on other options we had, gave us the pro's and con's of each option and spoke prices as well. Dom asked the right questions to help us come to a decision, and wouldn't accept a thank you for the kindness, patience and help he provided us because he insisted he was just doing his job. Dom mentioned how much he enjoyed working at that store, how much he's learned about different departments to include the blinds section. He has people come from other stores looking for him specifically with assistance in cutting and making a selection on blinds. This is one of those interactions where I cannot share my experiences with this individual enough. A true professional, a true gentleman who cares about customer service and excelling in his duties. I can only hope Dom gets recognized for his efforts and genuine care for the customers in that store. I cannot remember the last time I received such phenomenal service. God bless you Dom! We'll be seeing...
