Fraudulent Sale. Sold an xbox 360 missing an internal hard drive.
Long story short this company stole my money by selling me something that literally has an internal component missing and then only gave me store credit to retain the money I had spent. My story and experience is down below.â¨â¨I have been wanting to play skylanders again and a console that has all the games is an xbox360. Because of this and what Iâve seen in stock previously at Game x Change I decided to stop by and pick up the game a figure and an advertised tested and working 250 gig console. â¨â¨The factors leading up to me writing this review start with that when I got home and opened the game I found no disk in it. I immediately called and the employee on shift at the time and he said he forgot to put it in. Unfortunately this meant that I had to drive back to pick it up. So I decided to wait to open the xbox.â¨â¨That night after my 1.5 hour total commute there and back with much excitement I tore through the packaging after returning home and noticed a very profuse smell of soot. While this is not optimal and very annoying I didnât really mind because I would just take extra time to deep clean it and hopefully that would fix the issue. When I plugged in the console there was nothing worrying at first aside from the smell and after going through the menus and making sure my controller worked (it didnât but I had old ones so I didnât mind) I decided it was time to make an account. But to my surprise and shock when I clicked the button to make one it told me that I had to pick a storage device to save it to. But it showed none to choose from. I thought that was weird so I went to system settings and was taken aback when I found that there was no hard drive or ssd. An internal component was missing, and somehow my experience gets worse!
I immediately called not even 24 hours after buying the xbox 360 and asked if I could bring back the console and get my money back. The same employee that sold it was very understanding over the phone and confirmed I could indeed get a refund. I arrived at the store less than 24 hours later and I put it on the counter mentioned who I was and that I had called and asked for a refund. The employee then asked ârefund? Not an exchange?â I said yes and he said okay. He then handed me a piece of paper with a code for store credit. â¨â¨I told him that I needed my money back because he sold me an advertised tested console that literally had an internal component missing and he said that due to policy they couldnât give me my money back. I said that I understand that policy if the xbox worked but they literally sold me an xbox360 with a missing internal component, so itâs just a plastic box with a green light. And then they would not let me get my money back. On top of this he would not give me his managers phone number and I had to call 3 other stores before finally reaching someone that would give me the corporate office phone number. â¨â¨I called and explained my situation and the way its set up I had to leave a voice mail. About half a week later I got a call back and was told that my answer was coming from the president of the company and this is was she said on his behalf, âit took to long to get your message so in store credit is all we can offer youââŚâŚ I find it interesting that the president of the company does not have the power to give me my money back but thats neither here nor there. I have never had a situation like this so I wasnât sure what to do and I know that freaking out wouldnât be helpful so I decided to write this instead.â¨â¨ Do...
Read moreThe employees here tried to sell me a 64GB SD card which was in a box of memory cards, the 64GB space said it was for PS Vita (which floored me as they go for 99$+) They insisted I was wrong, but finally tried it out on a Vita - and shock (PS VITA ONLY USE MEMORY CARDS MADE BY SONY!) it didnt work, but when I asked them if they still plan to sell it as a VITA card - they seemed inclined to rip off customers not as informed as I am. Plus the employees aren't knowledgeable about other things as well & spent most of my time in the store goofing off. Especially when your return policy refuses refunds your employees CANT BE LYING TO CUSTOMERS and expect them to calmly accept store credit. I hope an adult reads this Wrote this part hoping corporate or someone in charge might read it thus my choice of writing style). Thanks, but unless I improvement in your staff's customer service (not playing games instead of helping customers), in your staff's sexist attitude (there are a LOT of female gamers) and to be told you are wrong & no idea what you are talking about even after pulling out google on your phone to back me up - I was treated in a demeaning fashion. I would return the games I bought and never set foot in your store again - but you only give store credit and who wants to go to a store that makes you feel unwelcome & is less knowledgeable when you ask a question. Bonus points for walking away to test out that sweeeet Gamecube Wave Bird as Im asking a question and ignoring me completely. For now I am just making sure none of my gaming friends use your store - its sad when a smaller chain is less trustworthy than GAMESTOP of all people. Oh and for all the google posts raving about or asking about what happened to the frequent rotating sales - now for games its Buy 2 @ $7.95 get 1 free. If you can find any games you want or dont already have as all 3 must be priced EXACTLY $7.95. Last WARNING - Do not buy Atari Carts from them. They admitted when I asked if they were tested out before sold to customers - that uh no they don't test them, but assured me they were "cleaned up". I would only buy from an employee there in the future if 1. They weren't sexist. 2. You didn't have to track down where the employee snuck off to smoke or play games. 3. They can answer a few questions about the merchandise in the store without lying flatout, telling me I don't know what Im talking about (refer to #1 sexist jerks). To sum up currently the manager (barely there cause he is off playing with a sweet Wavebird N64 controller and cant be bothered) and employees WILL LIE TO YOU WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET YOU TO BUY SOMETHING! REMEMBER THEY DONT GIVE REFUNDS and Who wants store credit from LIARS! ALSO THEY ARE SEXIST/RACIST INSECURE "MEN" that will throw barbs here and there towards you the longer your in the store, or just talk about you behind the counter just within earshot. Regardless this is what a Used Game Store is like when run by people reminiscent of all the 10 yr olds in Multiplayer games Online just cursing at you and saying the most...

leaving this review based on the booth set up at Classic Games Fest in Austin. Wanted to buy a Gamecube, and decided to shop with them due to competitive pricing (on consoles). A quick once over of the games should have been enough to turn me away, but unfortunately i was optimistic. Most, if not every Gamecube Game they had was horrible scratched more than ive seen in any game store. All the boxes were destroyed, and the prices they expected for games were laughable in this condition. So whatever, I'll buy the games somewhere else. I asked for a gamecube at the front. It was wrapped up in a cardboard box, and yes i should have had them open it then snd there to look at it, but i did not expect that box to have a dirty, sticky, colored on, and internally uncleaned console. They also advertised the consoles at $80 and somehow i wound up paying $100 on the dot. Definitely my fault for not taking more assurance before purchasing, but there was no reason the console could not have even been dusted off before they wrapped up. The service was different depending on who was walking the aisles, but apart from one dude who was actually helpful, the other employees were basically acting like i was crazy for checking the disc condition and asked for a (slightly) better price on two games. I really doubt these are issues exclusive to this event, so i'd advise anyone to just shop somewhere else, and if Game Xchange has a better price, maybe go for it then. (Also, NO REFUND POLICY, they only offer in store credit...
