Just happened to be in the area and I felt like eating some asian food. Looked on my map and Wasabi came up. I figured I would give it a shot at about 7pm. Since I don't usually hang around Georgetown, I wondered what area I was going to. After 10 long minutes of driving down a country road, I appeared at a chain of restaurants/stores in a shopping center. The exterior looked dark. I wondered if this was a restaurant or a take out place.
Inside was a completely different story. It was a fully furnished restaurant with a oriental look, complete with a sushi bar. The restaurant was actually half full, with quite a bit of people already there. Good sign. The waiter said I could take any seat, so I sat in a booth by myself. I asked for hot green tea and they offered me a glass of water too which I accepted from a long day. Another waiter came up to me and asked me if I would like some alcohol or a sushi roll. I asked her for some recommendations. She suggested she loved the, "Out of control roll" so I decided to try that. I later ordered a beef yakiudon, which was fried udon noodles with vegetables and beef. I was hungry, but not that hungry. I also noticed there was Chinese food in the back of the menu too. Based on the menu, there were a lot of sushi combinations and they were focused on that.
My salad came first, then the yakiudon. Soon as I was eating my yakiudon, the out of control roll came. The Yakiudon was what it said it was, fried udon noodles with beef and vegetables so it tasted good. They didn't go crazy on the msg like other restaurants so that was good.
The out of control roll is another story. Apparently with it's ingredients they put a lot of things together and it tastes just like it says it does, but the cream cheese dominating. This is great if you want to try everything at once and tickle your tastebuds, but if you want to savor the taste of the different seafoods specifically, this isn't the best option.
The staff was friendly and the service was great. I would definitely return here and try...
Read moreTHIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN THIS RESTURANT. I went into this restaurant on 06/14/25. The young boy that was in there was EXTREMELY rude. When I asked him about the menu and attempted to get him to help me find a simple Ramen dish, he got loud and extremely rude and he DID NOT help me, he brought me out the wrong dish (spicy pok noodle) and kept saying this is what you ordered. Finally, I described to him what I was wanting, he stated if you would have told me that the first time I would have gotten it. He, was on his phone, (he had his earpiece in his ear) so he was probably acting like that because of that distraction. The food had a VERY FISHY taste to it, which was not supposed to be with this particular dish, (Singapore Rice Noodle). When I told him it didn't taste good, he DIDN'T even bother to fix it. I ended up paying for both NASTY dishes, (totaling $35.18) I do not know who was in charge on 06/14/25 but they need to get rid of this guy. I was not the only person who's order he messed up there were three other people who had the same issue with this boy. I tried to look at his name on the receipt and it just said server: employees. At any rate, this was the WORST experience I have had in this restaurant and I for one think it should be rectified before this person destroys this establishment. When this young boy is not there and serving, the food is FANTASTIC, and the service is GREAT. If anyone is going to visit, go when the young lady and the older gentlemen is there, you will...
Read moreI don't mean to sound like a snob, but I was pleasantly surprised to find such a great sushi place in Georgetown. Unfortunately, the rest of the Asian cuisine I have seen in this town is chain garbage (except for Nancy's Sky Garden. Yum. ) but I trusted the reviews that said it's good. My husband ordered a Chinese dish off the (surprisingly for such a small place) extensive menu and I got sushi, including some of the specials. The meal was a bit pricey, but we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The vegetable soup was surprisingly (I keep using that word) flavorful, service was quick and attentive, and variety of rolls available was tempting enough to make us spend more than planned. We will definitely be returning here in the future. As for the other reviews I see recently that are negative, well, my best guess is that people are oversensitive and/or expect to be treated like royalty. Just a reminder, waitstaff are also real human beings, someone's son or daughter, too. Do not throw a tantrum if they don't cater to you as you expect. If you are having a rough day or are new to a job, you would want people to give you a break. Treat others like you want to be treated. Again, waitstaff are not your slaves =( If that is your biggest complaint, you may want to reevaluate your...
