Abby is an unmatched talent! When she looks at a space, she truly has a natural vision of how it can be transformed. With our kitchen renovation she was confronted with an awkward existing layout due to a prior addition that didn’t tie in. She instantly started iterating on how to design a more functional space that was highly in tune with our family lifestyle in meeting our needs for both everyday life and entertaining. She was able to discuss a variety of options for different budget considerations and we landed on a plan for our kitchen that I never thought would be possible. It’s currently under construction and I can’t wait until it’s complete!

When it came time to select the more detailed design elements and finishes, she prioritized understanding my style preferences up front so that she could maximize efficiency of the process. She worked with the absolute perfect balance of giving me choices vs. making recommendations on all of the little details so that I never felt overwhelmed but was also able to influence the outcome enough so that my kitchen plan feels like a total personal fit. I cannot overstate this part of the process enough because there are SO many decisions to be made and her expertise was truly priceless in giving me the confidence that all of the right decisions were made (while saving me literally hundreds of additional hours of browsing Houzz and Instagram kitchens to make sure that I wasn’t picking a totally out of date look or one that wouldn’t stand the test of time).

Finally, on a personal level she is such a pleasure to work with! While she has a calmness about her that makes you realize everything is totally under control, she is also a naturally optimistic and happy person who made the process so much fun. It had been more than 25 years since our kitchen and laundry room/pantry had been updated and were in bad need of renovation. We looked at several options for the renovation and were so happy when we found The Inspired Kitchen. When we met Abby, we were instantly comfortable with her. Work was done as scheduled with high quality and within the specified budget. When the inevitable problems arose with opening walls, the team worked with us to get the right sub-contractors involved to address the issues while keeping the project on schedule. We hired Abby as a general contractor to remodel our kitchen. From start to finish, Abby was punctual, reliable, easy to work with and extremely professional. She has excellent communication skills and always did exactly what she said she would do within the timeframe she promised. When unexpected problems or circumstances came up (as they always do when renovating), she solved problems before we even knew we had them without delaying the project.
