Chopt Creative Salad Co. — Restaurant in Glastonbury

UPDATE: file under "and yet she persisted." I found myself back in town the next day and decided to try again. This time the location function came up immediately and I discovered that the problem with the credit card is that the fields for entering the CVC code and zip code are almost invisible on my Android screen. So I didn't see where it was asking for zip code. They have a very cool function to scan the card so I use that and did not see the field for zip code. I'm sitting here and enjoying my green verde posole salad and I must say it's a heckin 'good salad. Perfect blend of ingredients and dressing. I will return to try something else. I'm also impressed that Chopt reached out immediately to me and asked me to specify what I had experienced so they can fix it. I'm impressed by that.

Quite possibly the most cumbersome website I've ever tried to use. Apparently the website doesn't think that a Chopt salads exists in Glastonbury. I tried searching Glastonbury CT, Glastonbury, Connecticut, zip code, and finally was able to navigate there via a completely user unfriendly map . When I finally got my order in it rejected a perfectly valid credit card, one that I use every day and had just made a purchase at CVS. I finally gave up after half an hour of trying to place the order. I figure if their website is this bad the restaurant itself must be chaos. Don't bother with this place unless you have a lot of time to kill. I went and got a falafel at the falafel place next to Jersey...

Not just a salad.

I just received the best hospitality I have ever received at any "fast casual" establishment in my entire life. Who would have thought one could have an uplifting experience ordering a salad.

Each and every staff member was beyond friendly and welcoming.

However, a special thank you and "shout-out" to Jahlani or "Jay", who guided me through my custom salad creation like a sherpa guiding climbers to the top of Bear Mountain, like Moses guiding the Jews through the desert, like a coach teaching the quarterback through their progressions. Inspirational, hospitable, and professional.

Honestly this salad could have been terrible and I wouldn't have cared because of the great experience alone. Yet It's 3:41 PM on a Thursday and the vegetables are fresh, the chicken was tender, and the dressing was laid on just right....

Consistently rock hard inedible rice in the rice bowls. Complained to corporate multiple times. Say they will take up with local store, never improves. Portion sizes seem to be inconsistent. One visit salads/grain bowl are overflowing... the next, half-filled. This local store seems to not care about the product. Multiple issues with them forgetting items or just not completing the most basic alterations. The staff seem nice though...I get a warm welcome and smile every time I come in to pick up orders. Too bad they can't make decent food. I want to like this place because the food is generally pretty tasty, but the inedible rice and mistakes to the orders on a regular basis prevents this. Shows a lack of decent management on both the local and regional level. Retraining on how to use the rice makers should be a priority. I'm...
