Binny's Beverage Depot - Glen Ellyn — Local services in Glen Ellyn

We were in the area for a wedding, so we visited this location about a week ago to stock up.

The selection was great, and there was a decent variety of beers. I found some that I really liked. But what really bothered me about this location was the customer service.

We went up to the register with over $100 worth of alcohol in our cart. Our cashier was a jerk from the start- he asked us for IDs, then when we showed him our Colorado IDs, he claimed that they weren't real and asked for better proof. If our Illinois friend wasn't with us, we wouldn't have gotten anything at all.

Then I tried to pay for our items with my Visa gift card. Now I haven't had any other problems with the card while I was in Chicago, but for some reason, it was a problem here. The cashier kept scanning it, but it wouldn't work. He refused to enter it manually and just asked for another card. My girlfriend had to use her card.

That's not the end of our problems with this place. After coming home, we discovered that my girlfriend's card information had been stolen on the same day we went here. The only place we had issues with was...

I love this Binny's! As with most Binny's, but not all of them, but this one I am always surprised and delighted to find something new that is in my genre of drinking, and that is stout beer! (Hopefully soon I will move up to the world of wine) but in the meantime, stout is my newest obsession! This particular Binny's always has something new, I always I find something every week to try that I haven't seen at any other Binny's. I especially like to buy the liter bottles, and I have some favorites through Stone Brewery, but this one doesn't carry a wide selection of "stout" beer from Stone Brewer. they do carry Xocoveza, which is one of my favorites, and I am so delighted that they do have that... I would like to see some more Woot and some Russian Imperial from Stone Brewery. Alas, they do make up for this by caring and always delightful and new type of stout to...

This store is convenient and has a tremendous selection of whiskeys and wines. Briand is very helpful and courteous whenever I am there. This is my goto for anything. Great store, location and customer service!! Update 2/22/2022: Was able to stop by and get a bourbon and a rye at a great price on sale! Also, take the time to really search around the store, you may find something you had not though of like a couple glencairn glasses! If you like cigars, there is no better place!! Update 4/12/2024.
