This store is an absolute gem for supplies. Their stock of thread is massive, and they carry thousands of easy to follow patterns. Prices are also reasonable- a bit higher than chain stores, but not unreasonably so. The owner is quite knowledgeable about both the stock and the craft itself. The reason I left four stars instead of five is that it is very clear that this store is meant for an older and more experienced clientele, and not quite as accessable to younger or newer needlecrafters. I was incredibly impressed with this store and fully plan on returning, but a bit disappointed that the owner regarded me as more of a "young punk" (my own words) based on my appearance than an embroiderer with 37 years...
   Read moreI've tried to give the employees the benefit of the doubt and support local LNS. I went here 20 years ago and was off put by the snobbish staff. For other reasons, I stopped doing cross stitch for many years. I picked it up again this past year. I was glad to see they survived the tide and were still in business. I went and visited again (remember this is now 20 years later) and find nothing has changed. Stuck up, snobbish and made me feel like I didn't belong. There have been a few runs in, in person and online, but won't go there again. I will support online cross stitch shops and my mothers LNS that is an hour away...
   Read moreDropped in looking for some thread and other supplies, and the women working the table couldnât have made it any more obvious that she didnât want any needlepointers in her store. We are thankful, however, for the recommendation to take our money to a store that may be willing to offer some more polite assistance.
Gatekeeping elitism aside, the store has a residual old-timer funk to it and the parking lot was an icy mess.
Obviously, we wonât be returning, and certainly wonât be offering anyone recommendations to spend their money in this sad...
