I went in to just get some sweet Oberweis ice cream and was meet with a very empty store. it is connected to a restaurant as well, and even the rest was completely empty. And not just from customers coming in but no employees around either. I had to actually call the store itself to have the employee, ironically named John Smith, so it was kind of sus that no one around and a gentleman named John Smith answering the phones. I'm sure it was ok, but this John Smith has a very big ego complex and started to just try and argue with me when I asked why their wasn't anyone to greet me, and obviously he was embarrassed, but that doesn't give you the reason to act like a child because you don't want to be there. If you don't like your job, quit John Smith. But other than being a completely empty store, the chocolate milk and ice cream are always great to enjoy. I went out with my husband for an ice cream afternoon (6:20pm at Glen Ellyn Oberweis drivethru) and ended up receiving the worse treatment possible. A moody employee was annoyed by having more than one customer ordering in through the window and rushed us to make a decision. My husband ordered his choice of ice cream and when I was about to make mine this very rude Oberweis female employee told us “to have only one person talking to make her life a lot more easy”! I felt insulted and although I paid for our order I completely lost my desire for ice cream. I couldn’t believe what just happened! I threw the ice cream away! I could not trust it was clean to eat. Unsatisfied people should not be allowed to handle food and serve people. Glen Ellyn’ Oberweis deserves a better customer services.
