We ordered dinner on the app. We were excited to get a few sandwiches, soup and shakes! The soup tasted great. When I arrived to pickup the order, the sandwiches had been toasted and all wrapped up and waiting, however the shakes weren't started. I waited about 5 minutes for them to be made. Though not ideal, I figured its ok, the sandwiches would still be reasonably warm when I got them home.
When I got the food home we unpacked it two of the sandwiches and the soup were as expected and enjoyable. To my surprise the BIG italian had only meat and cheese and no veggies and no condiments. This was very disappointing after putting on and expecting to have additions and selecting extra of some things and making it just what I wanted. It felt like I got half the sandwich I was expecting. It seems that on the app when you modify the sandwich size after filling out all the customizations, it doesn't just modify the size, but resets all the toppings. Ugh! This was not anyone's fault in the store as the ticket matched what I got, but it was a very frustrating experience.
One of our milkshakes, the coldbrew milkshake, was great. It was thick and creamy and nice subtle coffee flavor. I tried my wife's milkshake and it was all liquid and thin. We opened it up and it was clear it was not right. The top layer was icy and chunky while the bottom layer was sugary milk. We are guessing the ice cream wasn't proportioned right and/or it was over stirred or curdled. Ugh! Im questioning whether I will be back soon based on...
Read moreI bought the "Powerhouse Chicken Salad" for $7.99 from the Potbelly location in Glen Ellyn. Let me tell you what you get. Tons of lettuce. 3 small tomatoes. Half teaspoon hummus. One tablespoon worth of chopped avocado. They advertise a hard boiled egg, however this is not what you get. What I actually received was about a half teaspoon of chopped egg yolk. Also a handful of chopped up chicken. It probably cost them about $1-$2 to make this "Powerhouse Chicken Salad." $7.99 can get you a whole lot more at restaurants that are a whole lot better than Potbelly. When I buy this item at other Potbelly locations, they do actually give you what is advertised in larger amounts. Not just a whole ton of lettuce with small bits of other things. They probably just went to the local Jewel and bought a head of lettuce for fifty cents and mixed in a few bits of other ingredients and selling for $7.99. If this isn't highway robbery I don't know what is. This "Powerhouse Chicken Salad" is more like a "Weakhouse Appetizer" as you will surely be hungry for an actual meal afterwards. AVOID THIS LOCATION...
Read moreNice location and lot of people. Love potbelly’s tuna melt sandwich. Person preparing the sandwich use the same knife to cut all the sandwiches and the same counter for all the sandwiches. To some people it may not be a big deal but in my case and in so many cases people do not want their food to be contaminated such as with pork and other health reasons. I took the sandwich and tossed it right into the garbage bin and left. I really don’t have time to complaint and look like a troublemaker. It’s not worth few bucks. I just paid, tossed the sandwich and left. One star is for a good location and I have to give at least one star to review.
3-2-2019 update After reading the reply from Potbelly I sent a nice email to the address they instructed to do so. Well it has been a week and no reply at all. I am sure the reply to my original review is for show to public that they care. Actually it meant nothing and they really don’t care. Funny fact about the reply from them. I guess it was a cut and paste from social media person. Most of the replies are almost same. Read them for yourself and...
