August 14th...preparing for an event that following Saturday - and thru Google search, discovered there was Gallery of Africa near me in Forestville, MD. Prior to entering the store, I did observe garments on a kiosk stand in the corridor of the mall. Once inside of the Gallery of Africa, I was greeted by the Store clerk, and after responding in turn, I asked, "is the kiosk further down the hall apart of the Gallery of Africa". I was appalled by her response, I was appalled that she assumed that her response would not be found offensive, and even more appalled that she assumed her response would guarantee me being a consumer of the gallery of Africa..She responded in answer to my question "No, they are foreigners we are black owned"...….The store name is "GALLERY OF AFRICA"...AFRICA being the originating land of us ALL in some form or fashion....WHO gave her the authority to judge and define these individuals as Foreigners......I think she does not represent that image, and clearly has lost the understanding of ALL PEOPLE...either you have something that I'd like to purchase, or not. The store had a few items I would have been interested in trying on and purchasing, but her commentary shifted my energy....redirected me back to the KIOSK of the "FOREIGNERS"..who assisted me with finding the attire I was looking for...….they were pleasant, the prices were fair, and the clothing was professionally crafted.....all key points to a consumer.... 1 UP FOR THE "Foreigners" and "-1 to GALLERY OF AFRICA" She was a short lady with fair skin, and highlighted blonde hair...…..now I'm no one to judge...but the irony of the "black owned" statement coming froma fair skinned black woman who was the store clerk with bleach...

I will never give this woman a dime of my money, nor will any of my family or friends. I would wish that she'd be miserable, but it's obvious that...

But for dinner I wore my white dress that I got many compliments on that held up in the very warm heat. I even got my white head wrap from there and the green jumper, which I LOVE! I am totally a forever shopper at this gallery! Prices are right and the owners is...
