Iâve been here before during the summer time, mostly to check the outdoor and garden items. The garden furniture and planters had a very good variety options with fair pricing, considering some of the oversized planters and âdupeâ designs look like they would be very expensive elsewhere. The rest of the store has furniture and decor of various quality, some are a bit closer to Michaelâs budget quality while others are on the level of TJ Maxx or Home Sense. Itâs a mixed bag, but there is plenty to search overall if youâve got the time. I picked up a full eight set of some gorgeous blue porcelain ceramic bowls, and a pretty set of cushions for my home for less than $140, where I would have seen each of those items go for two to three times the price elsewhere. Of course, YMMV, but it is fun for those who like to hunt :)
I only rated it 3 stars though, because I currently have two gripes: it seems some staff (if you can find them wandering around the huge store) are largely unaware of what in is the store, where to find things, or if there will be more of a product restockedâwhich i completely understand considering the size of the building and vast selection of products. My second, and most recent gripe, is that today (01/12/2024) I drove from out of town/area through crazy rush hour traffic to this store specifically with my mother, both of us excited to revisit in the new year⊠only to find it is closed at 5:15 PM, with no signage or information as to why posted. The store is supposed to be open 9 to 9 during regular hours. Things happen, and itâs unreasonable to think that a store will always be open during regular hours. But I canât understand the lack of anything about the decision to turn down the lights and lock up for a non-holiday almost four hours from closing. Itâs put a bad enough taste in my mouth that I may not want to make the trek out to Lanham to return again, since there are Home Sense and Home Goods closer...
   Read moreREVIEWING FOR DELIVERY: I just want to say thank you to an employee named Rebecca. Athome uses a third party for delivery, and for whatever reason, they only brought half of my order. I thought maybe the order would arrive in two parts, but when I received an email saying I "missed the pickup date" I panicked that I was going to lose half the stuff I bought. The items were not for myself, but for a work event that takes me months of planning. I called the store and Rebecca was extremely patient and helpful with me.
She explained the delivery process and assured me my items were actually still set aside for me, so she wasn't sure why the delivery service didn't take it. She was kind enough to drive to my job and deliver the items herself. I'm extremely grateful for the customer service. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because I think there should be improvement on the delivery part. I think the service they use should be notified, no matter how trivial it is, so this confusion does not happen again.
All the items were in good condition. With the exception of what was left at the store, I thought I received the other items in a timely manner. The customer service was wonderful. Rebecca was knowledgeable of the situation enough that she could assist with my concerns....
   Read moreThey make up what hours they choose to close. Don't believe the sign on the door or the information online. If the staff gets tired and they want to go home, they close the store. Tonight they started rounding customers up at 8:50. I had just arrived at 8:30. I didn't even know they were closing until another customer frantically asked me if I was a staff person or if I was shopping. I said I'm shopping, why? She said they are saying they are closed and are trying to run me out of the store. I said the sign says 10. She said, I know. I looked for a staff person to clarify and she said we are closed. I said the sign and website says you close at 10. She said well there's another sign. In fact there was one, a very small one she had just posted on the interior door that said they close at 9. The huge sign posted on the exterior door said 10. Ridiculous. From now on I will go to the Gambrills store. This experience was reminiscent of the poor customer service I received at the Woodmore Plaza Wegmans. This is also why I no longer shop at Wegmans in Woodmore...
