Let’s Talk About This Milk & Honey Catering Experience…
Per usual, I come with fairness and transparency. My individual dining experiences at this particular location have been consistent: food, top-tier; customer service, bottom shelf. But because I believe in giving chances—and the food really is that good—I decided to level up and place a large catering order for a very distinguished group.
I submitted this order two weeks in advance. Confirmation received. Payment processed in full. All systems go… or so I thought.
Now enter today’s chaos.
The order was scheduled for delivery. The third-party driver showed up and was told no one was available to hand it over. We tried calling the store—crickets. Thirty minutes of ringing, no answer. When someone finally picked up, I was told that no one in charge was available (because of course). They acknowledged they saw a catering order come in… at 7:30 AM—not the one I submitted two weeks ago. I sent my original confirmation, thinking this would resolve things. Nope. I was told they don’t do same-day orders and the food would not be made. Period.
No apology. No accountability. Just vibes and confusion.
Now, I believe in supporting Black-owned businesses. I really do. But what we shouldn’t do is confuse support with silence. Because what matters—regardless of ownership—is consistent service, communication, professionalism, and delivery (literally and figuratively). And unfortunately, this was a major flop.
Now one of the largest and well-respected community organization now has to consider putting you on our “Do Not Use” catering list. And that’s not shade—it’s a hard truth.
That said, in full fairness: the Bowie and DC locations? Stellar. Great service, great food, and the reason I’ve kept coming back. But this location… let’s just say it’s giving “You had one job.”...
Read moreI wish I could give 0 stars. EVERYTIME I ORDER I ORDER THE SAME THING. I work literally across the street and my morning breaks are 15 minutes. I always ask them to fry my egg hard and they never do. It was so bad one day one of the managers had made my next order totally free because they know I am a regular and they were aware of it due to me calling and complaining. Prior to this I’ve never left a bad review because I know mistakes happen however, this is totally unacceptable. If a customer asked for something to be a certain way… it should be done that way. We are paying our hard earned money and we are choosing to shop with this place. Just a week before I ordered the same thing and my sandwich was perfectly fine, in fact, it was exactly what I asked for and I literally had no complaints. I was shocked because usually I always have to call and say “ I asked for my egg to be fried hard ( which it was not written on the bag or receipt so I’m guessing it was never told to the cooks) and it’s scrambled and my bread is wet and my sandwich is falling apart.” Last week I did not have that issue. Fast forward to this week. I ordered this sandwich and asked for my egg to be fried and I get this AGAIN. My coworker even experienced the same thing. We called and we’re told we would get a refund. My co worker had to call later that day( 04/15/22) around 4pm to REMIND the guy manager to do the return. ( Her photo of her sandwich is the one with the purple and pink nail) I had to call today (04/18/22) to remind him of my refund and Indigo whom was working apologized and helped me out. She was also the one that was there the week my sandwich was right. Only because of her I may return. BIG MAYBE ! This is...
Read moreCan I say I used to live in Greenbelt MD, and I would drive out of my way to go to the Milk & Honey Southern Inspired Kitchen location: 9201 Woodmore Center Dr. Lanham MD 20706. Why, because the customer service is "top-tier" and the food at this location is "scrumdiddlyumptious," meaning you can tell it's food made with an essential ingredient: LOVE!!! To me it's food that feeds my soul. I had the Lemon Pepper Chicken & Waffles on 09/18/24, and my Chicken was fried to perfection, and you can tell in every-bite that chicken was marinated!!! I had the rendition of the Crab Cake Benedict, instead of crab I had the deep-fried salmon. Your girl loves a good meal and I live for the perfect bite. I consumed the entire thing on the spot. The entire team was a delight from the prep, chefs in the kitchen to the folks working the POS/Cashier, you can tell that this is a team of real professionals that work together in synergy, but I want to give a huge shout out to: Oliver the Chef and Rayvon the GM, because I've worked in the hospitality, service industry since the age of 15, and I know you don't get a smooth, well-oiled operating machine that produces good food and great customer service every time without hard work, dedication, and passion!!! I will be supporting this specific establishment for a very...
