Read moreWoodmore Town Center is located right off of Campus Way S, in Lanham. This place is kind of an all-in-one; here you can find Wegmans, perfect for grocery shopping (esp for fresh fruits, vegetables, quality meat, local produce, etc!), as well as a Costco for those who prefer to shop in bulk. Hungry? There's a Diner on-site as well as several other meal options. There's a UPS for package mailing/Amazon Returns, a Nordstrom for casual shopping, a rather fine (if expensive!) Beer, Liquor & Wine store....this place has it all.
Just beware of the people DRIVING in this location!! Unfortunately Marylanders around here still haven't -quite- figured out how the traffic circles work--OF WHICH THERE ARE MANY used to navigate the complex. [[TLDR, outside lane means you're going ONE road over; Inner Lane means you're going MORE THAN ONE road over. ]]
If that weren't enough, there are plenty of people who also seem incapable of deciphering the -rather wide- arrows on the ground located at the traffic circle that directs you towards Wegmans from the main road; many ppl try to go ACROSS the circle from the right lane which, in actuality, ONLY DIRECTS YOU TO THE RIGHT TURN; The LEFT lane is the lane that allows you to CROSS THE CIRCLE towards Wegmans. The alignment on that circle from that direction is rather bad, though; that's prolly why the arrows are so huge, but sadly entitled people just ignore them, and so near-mids accidents are super common in this area. 😮💨
Basically, it has everything you need--just watch out for anyone actually driving around...
Read moreOn 5/18/19, I drove over here in my bus from Six Flags, with a couple of other drivers to visit Wegman's to pick up lunch and dinner, before returning to the park. I know my bus is large, so I found 5 empty parking spots, back by the Bank of America ATM, and a building under construction (ie away from the storefronts and out of the way).
I was approached by a security officer just as soon as I set my brakes, and promptly told to leave. The Woodmore Towne Centre property managers do not welcome "oversize vehicles". This was disappointing news to hear.
The group I'm driving this weekend, is 150 people in 3 busses. Before departing for home tomorrow, the plan was to drive here from our hotel, allow the group an hour to get lunch at the several restaurants, and do some shopping. Conservatively, that would have been $3000 spent on property in an hour, if everyone spent at least $20. The buses would have taken at most 18 underutilized parking spots. Assuming those spots each had a car with 4 people spending the same amount per person, only $1400 in revenue would have been generated in that hour (18 cars x 4 passengers x $20 spent per passenger). That's less than half of the revenue my group could have generated, in 6 times the vehicles.
In conclusion, since my bus is not welcome on Woodmore Towne Centre property, my group, will be going elsewhere to spend their...
