Went to the mall pop hunting. Ended up at Gamestop. Didn't find the pop I was looking for, but found a Tubbz Leatherface that I liked. Go to checkout. Associate (Matt) tries upselling me on Pro membership. I say "No thank you"... should be the long and the short of it, right? Wrong! He then goes on to say that if I had got the membership... I would have already have paid for the membership itself in savings. To which I said "Cool, still not interested". He then fires back with "I don't know if it's cool, but it certainly is an accomplishment". It escalated to the point that I finally told the guy to go F himself, and I get kicked out, but not after they already ran my card. So now I got kicked out, spent $27.29, and have no item for my troubles. Pretty sure that's theft.
Filed a complaint with the manager with a phone call from the parking lot. Have a fraud claim filed with my bank. If it's still there tomorrow... I'm probably going to be even more annoyed.
Update: Contacted my bank the next day. They stated the transaction was still pending and not canceled. Called the store and gave them the option of giving me my money back or giving me the item I paid for. Manager said "You can have your duck". So he basically admitted to theft with those words. Went in, and suddenly I'm getting a charge back to my card because they've "misplaced" the item. Surprise... surprise... It's almost as if the clown that was ringing me up wanted the item for himself.
Went to a different Gamestop for some information. Come to find out that the membership this guy was trying to upsell me on is $25. Literally the same price as the item in which I was buying. So this clown basically expected me to pay double the price for a single item. And got mad and butt hurt when I said no.
Also got information on how to report this matter to regional. And I will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI tried returning an unopened figure that I initially planned on giving to someone as a gift. Reason being is that after purchasing, I realized that the item was a lot lighter than most others that Iāve held before. It didnāt specify the size of the figure anywhere on the box, so out of curiosity, I looked up the measurements and realized that even though the box is 7.5 inches, the figure was only 2 inches tall. If I had known that, I wouldāve never bought the thing at all. Mind you, this cost me $34.90. $34.90 for a tiny, keychain-sized figure that came in a box with like 80% extra space inside? Incredibly misleading, and I was immensely disappointed. Obviously I went to return it, which the receipt I got clearly stated that Iām eligible for. But the problem with my figure isnāt what Iām writing a review to this GameStop for. Upon arriving, I spoke with a manager named Zach, who was no help whatsoever. He immediately came off as rude and disrespectful just by his attitude alone. He cut me off before I could explain, refused to even look at the box or receipt, and flat out said āno.ā He claimed there was no way in his system to process the return ā but when I called another GameStop, they helped me without hesitation. He made me feel as if I wasnāt even worth listening to. If he had simply explained things kindly, I would have probably accepted it. Instead, he talked to me as if all he wanted was for me to leave. Afterward, I checked the reviews and wasnāt surprised to see many others reporting the same kind of behavior from him. This is clearly a pattern, and it reflects very poorly on the company. I truly hope corporate takes this seriously and addresses how Zach...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAvoid this GameStop unless you want to be ripped off on trade ins and deal with horrible customer service from their "Assistant Manager" Zach R. Rude from the moment we went in. He sat behind the counter and ignored us standing at the counter until we asked if someone could help. He threw one game on the counter and said no with no explaination. I said why what's wrong and he said overstock. That's fine and all but at least explain without just throwing it down and saying no. Then he gave me the lower price for my PS5 controller saying it needs refurbished without even testing it which they are supposed to do also no explaination I just saw it on the screen. Then he said my PS5 needed refurbished which is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE! We asked for more information and he said the game he used wouldn't update. We asked if he could use another game he said no that would take hours. We asked if another employee could try because the PS5 is 100% working we just used it before bringing it in. Again he said no and said he's the assistant manager. So I had enough of this guy and his trying to rip me off and his rude attitude and said I'll take it to another GameStop. He then unplugged the PS5 without even turning it off first. Went to another GameStop and they checked out the PS5 and said it WORKED GREAT and they had amazing customer service and they gave me full trade in value. Never had such horrible customer service at any other GameStop and if he is actually their Assistant manager with that attitude then that speaks volumes about the...
