Long post but worth the read for those going soon, especially with young kids during the summer!! SUPER DISAPPOINTED, OVERPRICED, NO A/C BOWLING AREA, LACK OF CARE FROM MANAGEMENT!!!!
After living in Okinawa for a few years, we were so excited to have a Round1 here in our home state Arizona, it brought back a lot of memories. Unfortunately, our FIRST ever visit was incredibly disappointing and not just because we went in with high expectations but because of the experience as a whole.
The games are extremely overpriced. We spent $55 and only got to play about 15 games as each one we played with our kids was 12-20 each, which went by way too quickly for what we paid while waiting for our turn to bowl which had a 45 minute wait. We went through the card in half that.
Waiting for bowling was fine and as to be expected; until we got to the lanes and realized there was no air conditioning in the bowling area. In the middle of summer here, this is unacceptable! There were only 4 fans for split between all the lanes, and we basically had to play tug-of-war with the group next to us just to get a breeze as they refused to keep it in the middle and kept turning it towards themselves and away from my 3 young children completely. I shouldn’t have to fight with the table next to us just to get some air because the business is incompetent of maintaining their AC or providing more fans so we don’t have to literally play tug-of-war.
Our kids were so miserable and overheated they didn’t even want to finish bowling. We ended up turning in our shoes early and didn’t complete our hour. When I brought it up to the manager, they told us there was “nothing they could do” since we were a little over halfway through our time. But in those 30 minutes, we didn’t even get halfway through the game between the 5 of us because we were moving like sloths. The kids kept skipping their turns to sit down and sip their drink (no water offered by the way, they should put a water tub over there), and we were all sweaty and exhausted.
By the way, their lines are so ridiculous for food/drinks, I paid $11 for a soda pitcher at the Kiosk just to fill it with water for us because getting helped by an actual person is lengthy. I spent about 10 of our first hour trying to get us a drink after realizing how hot it was. So prepare to bring your own waters, pay $11 for a pitcher, or $3/per bottles water. Also, the kiosk kept glitching and I had to constantly select “keep waiting” when the error message would pop up saying something along the lines of “kiosk not responding, do you want to restart”
Overall, there was no warning about the lack of A/C in that area when we got on the wait list of when we paid the $60 to play (also they say you have 10 minutes when you get the lane ready text to check in but I stood in line that whole 10 minutes & was worried that would make us lose our spot) and NO effort made to make things right at all when my kids were clearly miserable sweating. I asked for a comment card, was told “sorry” and “you can do a google review”. Between the high prices and poor accommodations, we left feeling frustrated and disappointed without even finishing and we wasted $125 on what was supposed to be a splurge night for our kids before summer is over. Sadly, we won’t be returning as I will never step foot in a place in Arizona where they don’t have accommodations set up for lack of AC, no accessible water, and refuse to offer a refund of something when we chose to forfeit our time...

I recently visited Round 1 at Arrowhead Town Center Mall, and it was an absolute arcade haven! The rhythm game section is a standout with DDR, Dance Rush, Gitadora, Guitar Hero, and Beatmania—keeping any music game enthusiast entertained. The fighting game section, especially the Street Fighter 5 cabinet, offers thrilling matches, and the networked machines offer local or online play against other round 1 locations.
The coin pusher and marble game section is diverse, featuring Angry Birds, Wizard of Oz, Marvel Avengers, Rick and Morty, SpongeBob, Frenzy Rush Fever, and Marble Carnival. The racing section, including VR racing and Mario Kart, provides an exhilarating experience.
The ticket games surpass expectations, offering more fun than Dave and Busters. The prizes available for redemption are also notably cool. Spark Bowling, particularly the Rivals video bowling game, was a blast. The inclusion of a Dino ramp assist for kids and easily set-up bumpers adds accessibility.
The claw machine games at Round 1 are a delightful addition to the arcade experience. With various mini-games and unique objectives, the UFO catchers challenge your skills to win prizes sourced directly from Japan. The collection includes an array of adorable stuffed animals and anime statues from popular Japanese anime, adding a touch of authenticity to the arcade. It's a fun and rewarding twist to the classic claw machine experience, making Round 1's arcade even more captivating for enthusiasts of all ages.
The Spocha section at Round 1, short for Sports Challenge, offers a diverse range of activities to keep the excitement levels soaring. From thrilling mechanical bull riding to honing your swing in the batting cages, there's something for everyone.
The large trampoline section provides a bouncing good time, and basketball enthusiasts can showcase their skills on the court. For those seeking a different kind of speed, there's kart riding that adds a racing element to the mix.
Badminton, pickleball, and volleyball cater to those with a competitive edge, while indoor soccer allows for some intense matches. And if you ever need a break from the active sports, the free-play arcade ensures non-stop entertainment with a variety of games.
With such a comprehensive selection of sports and activities, Round 1's Spocha section guarantees a dynamic and enjoyable experience for sports enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike.
Exciting developments are on the horizon at Round 1! The addition of a VR room promises an immersive and cutting-edge experience for gaming enthusiasts. The upcoming kids tubing area will surely be a hit, offering a unique and enjoyable space for younger visitors.
Furthermore, the inclusion of massage chairs adds a touch of relaxation, providing a well-rounded experience for guests looking to unwind after an action-packed day of gaming and sports. With these upcoming features, Round 1 continues to enhance its offerings, catering to a diverse range of interests and ensuring there's always something new to explore and enjoy.
The arcade downstairs has been a blast, and the variety in ticket games and prizes, combined with a great bowling experience, makes Round 1 a must-visit. While the food quality is akin to a movie theatre, the Japanese selection adds a nice touch to the...
Read moreWe gave the Arrowhead Mall location a chance last night. They just opened 10 days ago, so I imagine that's what the main problem was. The top floor is the "Spo-Cha" area where it's "All You Can Play" for a certain amount of time and money. We did the 90 minute session. The roller skating was a lot of fun, albeit a small rink. They have multiple courts for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, soccer which was fun. They've got pool tables, trampolines, batting cages, and a mechanical bull upstairs as well. The "All You Can Play" games upstairs were less than desirable, though. About 1/3 of them weren't working and the other 2/3 weren't all that great. The two main problems we had while doing our "All You Can Play" session were the employees. I don't know if they're understaffed at the moment or what, but the majority of them were not helpful at all. We went to the small food area upstairs to get some water and no one was there. There was one male employee behind us cleaning tables and sweeping but he literally did not look at us once while we were standing there. We finally just walked away and went looking for a soda machine. They have one but it was nearly empty so we just drank from the water fountain. We saw multiple men walking around who appeared to be corporate employees. They were wearing suits and walking in groups of two or three. However, they never acknowledged anyone, that I saw. When my kids wanted to do the trampolines, we asked the ONE helpful employee where to get socks. He was friendly and told us where to go. However, we stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes with zero acknowledgement. There was two employees working this desk and, honestly, TWO families trying to buy passes and get in. Neither of the two employees even looked us to tell us to hang on. Nothing. Just completely ignored us. And just so everyone understands, this is NOT a large desk area. It's maybe 10'X10' square. Eventually, my husband and I just told our kids, "We're just wasting the time we have left, so come on, let's just do something else." Could we have gotten socks when we purchased our tickets? Yes. Did we know this? No. Were we told by the guy who checked us in? Also nope. Once our 90 minute session was up, we decided to check out the downstairs arcade and food area. After standing in line for what felt like forever, we were told by the employee working the register that they had a "VERY limited menu at the moment." We're talking chicken tenders and nachos. I asked for an Icee for my kids. Machine wasn't working. Asked for a bottle of water. None. Asked for a cup for water from the soda machine. FINALLY, we got a yes! That was the moment we decided to leave. My advice to Round 1; try to hire people who give a hoot about their jobs and customer service and maybe keep someone on staff who can maintenance machines. Or at the very least, perform simple repairs. My advice to a customer; consider going on a weekday. In the morning. When no...
