Owner and his wife assaulted me and my fiancé on 12/5/24. We were visting from out of state and mistakenly parked our truck in spot that was on his business part of the parking lot. After making a quick stop in the establishment next door i was approached by the owner of this store and very aggressively was asked to moved my truck. I stated I was from out state and would move it, he continued to follow me to my truck continually raising his voice and demanding I move my vehicle. After each apology to move just made him more and more angry to the point he grabbed me and attempted to pull me out of my truck, at this point my fiancé came around and attempted to get him off of me and his wife jumped on her and started assaulting her. At this point we called local law enforcement and I started recording, law enforcement showed up and asked up to just leave in which we did promptly. I don't know if there were any repercussion for this. I have been a long time visitor to Glenwood Springs and was potentially looking to relocate our family there at the time but after this event we shortly left and came back to Texas. Until this point we had been met with nothing but smiling faces and welcoming people so we were appalled and and spooked by this behavior from somebody who seems to have a well standing in the community, i wanted to share my experience so that nobody else gets harassed, harmed or assaulted by these people. Below I included what I assume to the store owner post-assault when I was attempting to get his information for the local law enforcement. Instead of doing so he came outside and tried to walk up on me again. Again this type of behavior is uncalled for from a supposed to be an operating business establishment by any means.
