It blows my mind that this place has the amount of good reviews that it has, because I came in thinking this place was gonna be the bees knees, but I was totally wrong and completely let down of my (not that high) expectations. For starters, the surrounding area has very mediocre food so I felt like this place was going to pretty much match everything else the city had to offer. Entering the store, it was really nice, and felt homey. I initially thought I was in a clothing store that sold donuts on the side to bring in some extra revenue. I ordered a dozen donuts. Keep in mind people, when you buy donuts, you’re buying deep fried bread with sugar on top. You’re not buying donuts, where all the ingredients are hand made in Switzerland, and the only way to transport it is by boat. Tell my why I paid 50 dollars for 12 donuts? Almost 4 dollars per donut? I get that this place is located 8 hours away from the nearest…anything, but why are customers expected to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a regular sized donut. The taste did not meet the price point, very greasy, but the dough was very very fluffy and soft (the only good thing I have to say unfortunately) but the oil was still heavily attached to the bottom of the donuts as if they came straight out of the fryer. It made me miss the hole in the wall donut spots that I’m used to back home, that were 3x better, and were less than half the price of what I paid here.
There’s literally no other donut spots within a 200 mile radius, so this place is safe to stay until the city allows somebody to open up an Dunkin’ Donuts or a Krispy Kreme and it’s bye bye...

The owner, employees and vibe at Sweet Coloradough is immaculate. From the amazing branded RV and car outside to the friendly service it is a treat (sweet and savory) to come to this Glenwood institution.
There is always a line and rightfully so as the food is great and nothing else like it in Glenwood Springs.
They have a good amount of Colorado merchandise and you can also order boozy coffee or booze for your morning or afternoon.
The cronuts are divine as are all of the doughnut options. They are fresh and if you're lucky you get a batch that just came out. I also tried the breakfast burrito which was very filling and came with sides of guacamole (needs a bit of spice but very fresh), salsa and sour cream. My only ask would be crispier hash browns. The sausage, eggs, cheese, etc. were all fresh and cooked to order.
I definitely recommend Sweet Coloradough and thankful I don't live too close otherwise I'd be coming here...
