Dang, 2024 is a glow up year for Golden Farmer's Market! The number of fresh produce stands has exploded. Coffee options overfloweth. Prepared breakfast options abound. Local artisans and niche products are plentiful.
The majority of Golden, myself included, use this weekly market as a free form of entertainment for small children. I love that I can start the morning with a run along Clear Creek, grab breakfast and coffee at the market, and then can take my kid to the library (or park) or bring out of town visitors to the Golden Museum or Washington Street.
In upcoming years, I hope to see more international stands pop up like the Ukrainian food vendor that joined this year.

Read moreFun place to people watch , listen to music and get some delicious local foods. There are a lot of "value-added" product stands (coffees, salsa, etc.) but far fewer fresh produce selections. Thus it seems less like a farmers' market to me. However this also depends on the time of the summer growing season. Also, if it's important to you (it is to me), make sure you're buying from stands that are actually growing/producing their foods. I saw one vendor literally selling produce bought from the grocery store that had its PLU stickers removed. Read moreThis is good market overall. Make sure you ask prices before you buy, some vendors get a little out of hand on things. Personally I don't mind paying a premium for great organic especially if they are locally grown but $8 for a pound of pasta is over the top. Lots of great food to choose from and nice folks. They've got face painting for the kids and lots of great eat on the spot kind of stuff. I was getting used to markets being more like craft fairs lately but this is definitely a farmers market.
