We love love love coming here!!! Save yourself the hassle. Buy and bring your own tubes. Bring a hand pump or air blower of some sort and air them up when you arrive. It's such a wonderful experience and beautiful scenery. Adhere to the park regulations and park rules and there's no issues. Pack a cooler for drinks and snacks. Bring your own trash bag if you can't be inconvenienced to walk to the trash cans. There is a great Mexican restaurant about a 10 min walk away with a fantastic horchata margarita. We made lots of friends. Don't be scared to ride down...be safe and be aware. Walk all the way up and start in the calm parts. The little rapids are super fun if you are comfortable for kids and adults lol You can sit on the sides and soak in sun. Just make sure you aren't blocking an access area for others trying to enjoy it also. The public restroom we've used is up by the kids park. It's never been an issue of it being dirty. Very clean grounds and friendly people galore. Anyways we love it....

Went here for memorial weekend (Monday) with some friends. We brought our own portable charcoal grill (since the park did not have any public ones) and we did manage to score a table. If you forgot a grill id go to the safeway less then a mile away and pick up one for about 30 dollars. After the BBQ we took our inflatable tubes over to the river which was REALLY FUN. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and there was no drama in the 9 hours we were there. We had our little speaker and it was a great time. I'd def go and visit again.

I love golden but the firework show this year was so disappointing. Just look at the photo! The city of golden left the giant field lights on and ruined the show for everyone. You can't see hardly anything with the harsh lighting. I'm really questioning the intelligence of golden now. One person mentioned it could be for safety reasons regarding COVID-19 but I saw three cops sitting down as crowds formed to leave the field soo... your safety reasons are invalid. Do better next time golden. We'll go somewhere else next year.
