I left this store last night and am so upset with my experience that I feel inclined to leave this review. I walked in with my service animal and the young lady at the desk asked to see my service papers which I gladly did, and she let us walk around. When we entered the smaller side of the store, a different tall skinny brunette cashier immediately told me I was not allowed to be in the establishment, regardless of my dogs' status as a certified service dog, refused to see her papers because it's a "store rule". Her reason being that there was packaged food nearby. This woman was hostile and rude to me and my friends, and kicked us out of the store. She discriminated against me because my disability is not physically debilitating. If I were blind or physically handicap would I have been kicked out? Probably not.
Edit in response to owner: My service dog in a non-fluffy neoprene pink harness with skies (because she’s not required to be in service uniform at all times especially when I have her paperwork; for reference TSA allowed her on a flight in the knitted outfit during Christmas season) has proof of the service title not support which is what I showed workers at this shop when illegally asked for proof. I was still asked to leave because “the store/manager policy” was that we were...
Read moreI came into the store today, 4/5, at approximately 6:50pm with my friend who has a certified and trained service dog. She was immediately met with discrimination and harassment from the tall , brunette staff member in the market section. Upon entry, she said dogs are not allowed to which my friend replied “she is a service dog” and even offered to show her the dog’s paperwork (the employee in the toy section already saw and approved it). The woman in the market section refused to see any paperwork and said her boss said “services animals are not allowed”. Either she was lying or the boss has put a discriminatory policy in place. Certified Service Animals are protected federally under the American’s with Disabilities Act. If my friend had a more physically visible disability such as being wheel chair bound or blind I can guarantee she wouldn’t have said anything. Attached is a document from the American’s with Disabilities Act website. It is ILLEGAL to deny a service animal in any establishment. I am deeply upset by the way my friend was treated. I am not the type of person to write negative reviews but I could not stay...
Read moreI have lived in Golden my whole life and I love tubing in the river during the summer. I bought my tube from Golden Goods and while they were not polite then they didn’t say anything rude, they just weren’t the friendliest staff workers. Well today my friend and I go in looking for help to fill our tubes and the older lady asks why we think she’d fill our tubes and asks in a disrespectful tone if we bought our tubes there. When I say yes she asks if I have a receipt from years ago. At this point I feel like she really just doesn’t want to help and I of course don’t have my receipt from years ago. Not only did we intend on filling our tubes, as well as willing to pay for it, my friend was going to buy a carrier for her keys and phone. We left because the lady did not want to help and sounded very annoyed. While the products and tourists stuff is good just be aware of the staff, because they probably won’t be the nicest people you meet in Colorado. I will not...
