I believe we saw sierra yesterday. She was fine as a stylist. No problem there. But the visit was absolutely terrible. I walked in with my toddler in her stroller and my 10 yr old to get her hair cut. I was never told when I scheduled my daughter’s appointment that only her and I could show up. The receptionist talked to sierra and said it is okay that I brought my toddler but just don’t bring her next time. At that point, I was already thinking there will not be a next time. I didn’t say anything since she said it was fine this time. Then I walked back with my daughter and they told me it was not okay and to stay in the front because my toddler can’t be over there because she will be in the way. we were standing completely out of the way and the salon was dang near empty. There was all of like 5 people in the entire building- including the lady at the front desk and only two people there actively getting their hair done. There was plenty of room for me to stand off to the side. My main issue here is that my child has disabilities. You may not see them from looking at her face, but they are there and she was not okay and I also felt like I didn’t need to spell out and explain my own child’s struggles to a salon in order to be able to advocate for my child- which I told the stylist that how can I advocate for her if I cannot even be with her.. even if my youngest was silent and out of the way.. Whenever my daughter realized I couldn’t be there with her, she was having terrible anxiety and looked so miserable and unhappy her entire cut. Once I realized I couldn’t stay with her, I wanted her to have the experience still because I knew how badly she wanted the cut but I wanted it done quick. So no shampoo, no anything. In and out. I attempted to make faces at her to try to cheer her up from across the salon and it somewhat worked but she was completely robbed of the experience she’s been wanting to have. I told the receptionist too, do NOT say it’s okay for me to stay and my toddler to stay too if it is NOT okay. It was not okay for her to be there. There was no reason to lie and tell me it was okay because it was not okay. Overall we will never return. I shouldn’t have to explain my daughter’s struggles to a stranger for them to read the room and see that she needed me in...
Read moreI can no longer recommend this salon for children's haircuts, which is a bummer. It's not we're frequent customers - I bring my daughter in for a children's cut (listed as for 10 and younger per their website) every 6-ish months, and have for the past few years; but we won't be back. It's not at the fault of the staff, or a bad haircut, rather the "no additional guests" policy. Our appointment was early afternoon during the week, so the salon wasn't packed by any means. When we checked in, I was informed of the policy and was asked to wait outside during my daughter's appointment. My son was with us, as it's spring break, and I don't have childcare. This has never been an issue at any of our prior appointments. I was involved in the initial consultation, with a stylist we haven't met before, and that was it - outside, while my 5-year-old got her hair done. So, there's no way to confirm with our stylist throughout the appointment that, yes, that IS how short I'd like her hair cut; or which way to part her hair; if she'd like it curled; etc - not to mention the safety of my child being left in an establishment in which her parent is not allowed, because of an "additional guest" policy. I didn't bring in a group of friends, we weren't in the way, I wasn't trying to hang out in the stylists' area - it's my child receiving the service, myself, and my 8-year-old son who would have just sat quietly in the lobby, which had enough seating to still comfortably allow other guests to wait for their appointments. There was only ever one other person sitting down.
My daughter's haircut turned out nicely. The staff are kind. I can recommend them if you're an adult going by yourself to...
Read moreWould give 1 star but I'll give 2 because I did find a nice shampoo and conditioner.
The staff was nice enough on the surface, but definitely gave off an uppity vibe that made it uncomfortable to speak up. The stylist and the consultant were polite, but this was not the type of place where I felt safe giving feedback, and after sitting there for six hours I was not about to argue.
The problems started before I even came in. On the phone, I specifically asked if they had curly hair extensions, not just if they installed them. The person I spoke to kept saying yes and told me to come in for a consultation.
At my appointment I came in for both a root retouch and the consultation. I walked in with honey blonde. I was told golden platinum was not possible, which was fine, so we settled on a slightly toned down honey blonde—basically what I already had. I walked out with ashy green blonde. ASHY GREEN BLONDE!!!!
On top of that, my stylist had no idea how to style curly hair. I left looking like I had on a bad curly wig. If every stylist has a diffuser, they should know how to use it and understand the products they carry.
I paid over $300 for this excluding the shampoo and conditioner purchase, which is outrageous for the results I got. That part is on me, but the whole experience felt overpriced, misleading, and disappointing. While I was looking forward to this, due to all the great reviews and it being an anniversary gift, I now feel ugly and despise my hair.
If you book here, make sure you know exactly which stylist is touching your hair and confirm they actually have the...
