We made our yearly trip for the fall season there today, and were saddened by the appearance both outside and in. On the outside, their parking lot had trash here and there, along with a couple pieces of clothing and a shoe laying around. Inside, everything looked fine until we got to the men's section of coats/shirts. Different displays were messy, along with clothes scattered on the floor around the displays. Didn't see that issue in the other departments.
The worst part was the checkout. The line was very short: Less than a minute waiting to have our items scanned, but the cashier was the problem. After being asked if we had a Kohl's charge card, and stating that we did not and that we had no interest in getting one, she continued to pester us throughout the checkout process about signing up. We declared no interest several times to no avail to her; Every few steps of the process she would mention something regarding the charge card. "You save 20%!" "You can pay immediately with cash or check after you charge the card!" "It only takes a few minutes to apply".
After getting through the charge card harassment, we were ready to pay. However, she then asked if we had a loyalty card. We stated we did not, and that we had no interest in applying for one at all. Thus began round two of the sales pitch. After declining several times yet again, we finally got to pay. The receipt printed, and as she was handing it to us, she asked if I had a smartphone. "Sure, why?"
"Can you please take this survey on our website here in the store? Make sure to check all boxes 'excellent'!"
After declining to take the survey there at the cash register after we paid, we made a hasty retreat out to our car. If you end up going to Kohl's this fall or winter, be prepared to be pestered about loyalty membership and the Kohl's...
Read moreToday I went to Target In search of a game called 20 Questions, we searched around the store and found a very kind employee who told us that they did not have the game and that we could find the game in the Kohl's down the road. I walked to the Kohl's and went inside, I walked around the store for a little bit trying to find the game, but finely I found the Toy Box section of the store. So I walked over the the Toy Box section and looked around, I noticed that the toys on the shelves were knocked over. So I went to take a closer look at the toys, there were toys ripped out of the packages and thrown on the ground, there was also Jelly beans smashed on the ground, I kept on searching for the game, but I never found it because of the lack of organization of the toys on the shelves. The toys on the shelves looked like a tornado had just went through the Toy Box section, I would like It very much if the staff of Kohl's would go through and organize the shelves and restock the toys that are missing from the packages. This problem made me angry at the fact that I cant go into Kohl's and pick out a game on the shelve of the Toy Box section of the store. The first picture is all of the toys on the shelve scrambled around, the second picture is a toy that was broken and on the floor, the third picture is a big piece of plastic from a package of a toy, the fourth picture surprised me the most, it is supposed to be a Scooby Doo book, but instead of Scooby Doo book it was a pony book taped to the package with...
Read moreThis place have rules but they do not enforce the rule. For example, some items in the store have several prices on it but the cashier is to search for the right price to scan. I received a $100 ft card on Christmas 2017 and spent all but $23. At a later date, I went to Kohl's to spend what was left on my Kohl's gift card. The boots were on clearance for $18, and the top I found was $3; however when the cashier totaled it on the register it was more than what I had on the card, so an elderly woman gave me the extra. After the transaction was complete, I realized that that the store still owed me $7.50. I have shown one customer service person the receipts and she saw the 7.50 discrepancy but never paid me the difference. Christmas 2018 is my daughter's birthday so I went to Kohl's. When in the customer service check out line, I made a comment about how Kohl's ripped me off. Paula was listening. This person worked the makeup area and customer services. Apparently, Paula told the cashier that was cashing me out that " the money was not due you". You see Kohl's can steal from you which is ok but when you ask for the money that you used to pay with it is a different story. I called the corporate office 4 different times and they did nothing to help me. I...
