I was trying to return some items for my baby that I didn’t need/use. This year I apparently met my limit of what I can return without a receipt, which is understandable. The original cashier/customer service person I was speaking with was unkind and short in her responses. When I asked if I could talk to manager to find out when the return period would reset so I could bring back some of these items or know if I needed to donate them (one was unopened formula), she off-handedly passed me onto Deb.
I approached Deb with my same question and she was able to tell me it would reset on 1/1/24. She was also very very sweet about everything. I walked away to pick up some additional purchases and remembered I had purchased two of the items on my target app. I went back to the checkout area and asked Deb if she would please help me and check again because of the all acting as a receipt because I didn’t want to approach the other employee who was not nice. She more than happily tried and had a team lead take a look when it still wouldn’t go through.
I still couldn’t return the items and that’s ok. Deb, idk if you can get a customer service award or something but I am so thankful for you! And the team lead was also very nice, but my eyes were watering and I couldn’t read...

I didnt have a receipt but tags were all on them and they had never been worn. They refused to return them and I simply asked "Why cant they be returned?", like any person would, and the lady literally yells at me "CALM DOWN LADY, CALM DOWN!" I was actually startled by it because I had never even raised my voice so I was so confused where her anger came from. She was extremely rude and stated they were "salvaged" and no longer in their system so there was nothing they could do. So I left and I took them to the Mishawaka Target and explained to them what happened to me at the Goshen Target and they returned them no question. Read moreI was disgusted with the checkout services! All registers are closed ! Customer service cashier said I could use the self checkout, I refused and asked if she could check me out, which she did. I presumed this was temporary but she said this is permanent. I absolutely refuse to use self checkout because it replaces a human job. The more we use machines, the greater the unemployment rate which leads to more welfare because most of the employees are part time and are not eligible for unemployment benefits. So I’m helping to fund welfare on MY tax dollars and I am very senior citizen! All the while, you in Target administration are reaping the benefits at customers expense !!
