I was at this store today getting some things for my house. I have spent over $1000 in here because some of the workers were very helpful. I made this store my go-to store. Well…today wasn’t pleasant at all…especially at checkout time. The girls in the back were very pleasant and helpful. Your CSRs in front….they need a little bit of help. The computer/register jammed up . The girl never apologized for the delay. My husband and I sat there for almost 20 minutes waiting for my change. The girl came back $12 short on my change. She didn’t apologize for short changing me. Because it was a lengthy period of time to look stupid and wait, I asked for my money back. My husband mentioned going to Menards. The girl snatched the dollar back and handed the money back that I gave her to my husband. My husband didn’t pay for the items…I did. I was not rude to the girl. She never apologized or said have a nice evening. I did in make a comment on how rude she was for not at least apologizing for the mishap. What topped it off, there was a manager sitting right there with no apologies either. I work in customer service. I have never treated any of the customers that pays my way like that regardless of the situation. I was in and out of Menards in 6 minutes. They treated us like valuable customers and they helped us get what we needed very professionally and promptly. Plus, I saved an extra $5. I am a secret shopper. I do post my recommendations on numerous places in the area. I would give this place 0 stars. But, the girls that were in the back were the only ones that kept my visit at 1 star. Rule of thumb, if you’re going to work with people, you need to least use the code word L.A.S.T. That means listen, apologize, suggest, and thank. That’s how you keep loyal customers...
Read moreVERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE!!! Ordered a whole-home appliance bundle- dropped quite a bit of money at this store, only to be 2 months out from having the delivery completed. We placed the our order, when it came in 2 weeks later they told me the dishwasher AND refrigerator AND stove were ALL damaged in shipping and they had to order new ones. The only thing not damaged was the microwave. TWO weeks later, the refrigerator was damaged again and the dishwasher had to be ordered again. The second stove had a dent in the back but the manager didn't want to return it because the damage was on the back side. I said I was more concerned about what trauma had happened internally on the stove and not just the dent and that he needed to throw in a 5 year warranty if he wasn't going to return it. We paid for delivery, then they no-showed us on the date they were scheduled-so I had to call and their answer was that it was on the truck but they just didn't deliver it. The THIRD refrigerator had a dent as well, and when the third-party company delivered it, they damaged our door jams and scratched the fridge. TWO weeks later, they had another fridge that got damaged in shipping and once again had to reorder a FIFTH fridge! TWO months later we finally got our FIFTH and FINAL fridge! By this point we just needed to be able to move in to our new house that we didn't even mess around with the door jams that they beat up twice while installing our fridge. SEVERLY DISAPPOINTED- Not once did they discount our deliver charges, even though they had no-showed us. Not once did they offer a discount for the two-month wait- or having to take time off of work to meet them numerous times! I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE REVIEWS ON GOOGLE!!! LOTS OF...
Read moreWe have been very disappointed with the customer service here, particularly in the garden department. We purchased 21 bushes and two trees a year ago. One of them survived. We took the receipt back along with pictures of the dead bushes in the required amount of time according to their guarantee. The person at the garden center told us that was all we needed, to take it to customer service. They were about to close and there was a line at customer service, so we returned the following day. Customer service said we had to pull every bush and bring it in! After a lot of work, we took it all back and the person at customer service said” yeah, last year was a bad year for a lot of our plants “ he also said they were just going to throw them all away. We were not going to spend the in house credit we got back on plants… we did need to purchase some mulch, so went back to the garden center. We told the cashier what kind we wanted and how many. He rang up a different kind because. “ he thought we would want the other kind “. We did not - so back to customer service where they got it straightened out and we supposedly got a refund….as yet, it has not showed up on our account and calls to ask about it...
