OutWest books is proof that independent bookstores can still thrive if they are business savvy enough to offer local items and services that bigger outfits won't prioritize.
Obviously the selection will be more extensive at Barnes and Noble, yet Outwest Books has lots of items that are highly relevant to the community such as specialized hiking and biking resources.
I've also never been able to find postcards specific to Grand Junction anywhere else.
The staff is very helpful and friendly too.
