I went to this waste of money school over a decade ago and I'm still paying for it to this day. I'm not even in the field I study for which was automotive technology. The dealerships I went to apply at could care less if you graduated from here. Some of them laughed when I told them where I went. Please take me advice if your thinking of going to one of these schools, don't go. Go to a real college and if you truly want to be a mechanic, go start at a dealership changing oil and work your way up. You want get anywhere going to this money pit.

Lincoln Tech is a fantastic school. The instructors are all certified, experts in their own field. They bring real world experience to the table, and know how to teach it. The course work is heavy at times, but nothing unmanageable. The ladies at Career Services will help you get a job as well. You just have to ask! If you’re looking for a school that will prepare you for the field, this is the one.

Good school if you are going for the diesel program.

I when to Lincoln college of technology back when it was called Lincoln tech before the name was changed of what is it today back in 2007 . Those days the school was very different everyone had the same opportunity to learn the program they when for. For me was very interesting because for the first time I was in a environment that was unknown to me. My dad was the one fixing the cars we had and that gave me the idea of doing something similar . My interested at the time was not to be a mechanic at all. But life gives you an unexpected turn. I made the decision to enter the school right after high school. I when for the diesel and truck technology program and graduated from the school In 2008 with good grades. I enjoy my time at the school and they were times that I even wondered if I was doing the right thing. I mostly enjoy when the instructor gives you the directions of how to disassemble and assemble a vehicle component and it tells you what each of the parts of the vehicle component does and how it works together. Back then everything was a little easier because everyone wanted to learn to become a good mechanic or to have the knowledge as a mechanic for hobby purposes. For me it was difficult to find a job as a diesel mechanic because back then at the time mechanic shops from dealers to fleets to independent shops were looking for experience mechanics. It took me a few years to find a shop that were offering positions for entry level mechanics. I was working temporarily jobs working from company to company until a opportunity show up to begin as a mechanic from the bottom up. I currently have five years as a mechanic and have work my way up. I do from oil changes to calibrations and much more. I wrote this because I see a lot of bad reviews about the school and the good reviews and it seems right to write my experience because I'm a Lincoln tech graduate and to show that even it took me a few years to become a mechanic and work for a good company everyone has the ability to do the same...

Here’s an honest opinion from being a student here and real experiences I’ve had.

The orientation is far from a real orientation it’s really just a long drawn out ā€œthis is who I amā€ meeting with faculty you’ll never see again.

All the classes are primarily module learning and they are FAR from being consistent and accurate (even some instructors acknowledge how wrong some of the information is).

The staff can be very immature, talk badly about their superiors, complain most of the day or simply flirt with one another.

They treat you like you’re still in high school and have 0 care for your personal life so if you have a baby due, surgery scheduled, have to make frequent doctor visits or if a loved one dies THEY DO NOT CARE. They simply care about your attendance so they look good.

I’ve personally witnessed students ask instructors questions and be told ā€œI don’t know about that I’ll have to look it upā€ like we could have avoided paying 38k and just doing our own research.

If you have ANY mechanical background you will 100% be wasting your time. The automotive and diesel programs are for people that don’t know what a wrench was (yes you guessed it an entire week was wasted learning, if you can call it that, what various tools were and how to use them).

They tell you it’s 60/40 in class and in lab doing hands on yet I’ve gone a whole month without doing a single lab.

Since I picked on pretty early I wasn’t going to learn anything useful I sought a job in the diesel field and have learned a lot more in a month there than I will ever learn from this school.

The cherry on top is that this school is not regarded highly on resumes as most of the accounts I work with have all laughed and joked about how bad their employees have been from Lincoln tech when they saw my shirt.

If you’re really interested don’t waste your money, go start as a shop help in your career field and work...

DONT GO HERE FOR COLLISION!!!! they fired two good teachers and by the end of the year had 3 instructors for collision which one of the instructor's sat on his phone every class and never gave any advice or taught anything he also had a bad attitude and made excuses constantly. They also decided to join classes together since there wasn't any teachers and had more than 30 students in a class at times.Ask yourself and tell me how 30 students can practice welding with 8 welders and some of the welders were not working its almost impossible to practice and for an instructor to actually teach students one on one when there are so many students in a class and this is just one example imagine trying to disassemble a car with 30 students you wont be able to actually learn when there are so many other students .I also will say they never had any events or anything to outside of school they said they would start having cookouts and events that never happened, they had multiple job fairs but not a single job offered a collision job besides Tesla which is an out of state program that you can only take after you graduate they don't actually help you get a job during your time at school .It seemed like there was no communication from top to bottom I would say save your money and invest in yourself and learn on your own this school isn't worth the money unless they make some serious changes from top to bottom but i doubt it highest they rent out a big parking lot but don't have money to expand the collision program there more worried that you have your uniform on during school than anything .i'm highly disappointed if i was to go back i would have gone to uti but it is way more expensive an only in houston. I will shoutout ms kat she is the best and...
