Amazing selection of completely overpriced records! Had the guts to charge $400 for an oop record I bought on clearance directly from an unknown band nobody cares about a couple years ago for $25 I'm trying to replace... It's a very underground band so there ain't many copies out there but I found the only one mint copy out in Europe on discogs for under $100 it's the shipping that kills you. How did you get to $400? Is it a Beatles butcher cover? Thier copy had a dinged corner and scuffed vinyl to boot. Enjoy your $400 wall decoration you will never sell. And a serious record collector who will never do business w such greedy people. Update Dude If I email you are you going to give me an 80% discount? Don't play stupid even your good reviews say your 4 times the amount of any other record store. Which is spot on! The ONLY other copy of my record is being sold for better condition one quarter the price which is STILL a rip off! This band in question is the left overs of a gold selling artist that broke up. They put out one record by themselves under a different name about 10 years ago that didn't sell at all to the point I bought a copy on clearance from the bass player 3 or 4 years ago. Now they are retired and what's left of the band is an opening act at smaller clubs. Ironically I'm going to see what's left of them at the small Paradise Lounge in Boston this week as the opener. This band can't sell 400 tickets today but you think you can sell the leftovers side project record after they broke up for $400? My buddies at Armageddon Shop in Providence once sold me a rare oop record for $60 valued 4 times that... When I questioned such a low price Ben said I got a good deal on it and don't try and make my entire months rent on selling one record. It's a free country set your prices you want. I see so many records I want over the years at your store and I simply can afford to pay 10 times what it's worth because you want to try and take advantage of my urge to complete my collection of a side project of a band no one listens to and can't sell out a club. If we return back here in a year will you sell it to me for 50 or $60 bucks? 2 years? 3 years? How long until doubling your money is good enough to make money now? 10 times it's value and 4 or 5 times your competition is completely unacceptable to me. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay. I guarantee you no one on this planet is going to pay $400 for that record. Not in 2024 or 2025 or 26... You are trying to take advantage of people and are greedy. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't... But if your prices were fair you would have one tenth records in stock because you would be flipping them...

Read moreWhile they definitely have a massive record selection at Forever Young, there are other things there that I don't think get enough attention in reviews.
Take for instance their cassette tape selection. I can confidently say that this is probably the largest selection you'll find in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (in one store). It nearly covers 2 walls in that warehouse like building and apparently that's still not enough space because they use the hallway to the restroom and a few shelves at the end of the aisles.
Another feature that seems to be downplayed is their music memorabilia selection. It's nearly a entire wall by itself and has tons of merchandise related to Elvis, KISS, The Beatles, and other classic bands/performers. Now, I'm not an experienced collectible dealer, but to me some of it looks like merchandise that was around when these bands/performers were at their peak while other stuff looks fairly new.
Some of the remaining products they offer outside of those mentioned above and records would be a small selection of music related shirts, patches, posters, used receivers, a large selection of CDs (new and used), and music related DVDs.
Also, did you know that they sell blank record sleeves, record jackets, felt turntable covers, and other things/containers to protect your media? Yeah they do.
The only real issues I could see someone having here would be the lack of listening stations (there's only one that I've seen) and I guess the prices (based on previous reviewers).
See I'm not the collector in the family (that goes to my wife) so I don't really look at the prices. But I do know that she is very careful about what see pays and wouldn't buy anything that seemed too high to her. So considering that on our last trip there she walked out with a handful of stuff, I would say that even if some products were overpriced for people it wasn't bad enough for her to walk out with nothing.
Finally the staff is awesome. We've had nothing but friendly service there and I think we've even interacted with the owner before (we needed a price on something). He seemed like he genuinely cares about his customers and gets a kick out of running a record store which is always...
