I, as a single woman, had an awful experience at this establishment. I came in on a busy Sunday and sat at the only empty table nearest to the owner. I did my best to be polite and friendly which turned into him ranting about political views, talking ill of not only his employees but also paying customers (… yikes) until I put in earbuds. At this point he then proceeded to throw a paper airplane at me that struck me in the face, centimeters below my eye. …….. He said “oops sorry I was aiming for your ankle haha” and “well now I feel stupid.” ??? I moved to the farthest table at the front of the shop at which point he started making rounds to each table, lingering between mine and another customers for a noticeably long time. Offering drinks to all but me (THANK GOD). Later he made an announcement to the room that he was about to throw a paper airplane, “everyone watch out.” Which I can only assume was a poor attempt at pretending his previous behavior wasn’t harassment. The owner of the shop has a shop cat that probably shouldn’t be there. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for shop animals as long as the animal AND the owner are able to behave. That being said the owner is NOT well behaved in regard to this cat. He made a huge scene about a customer who brought in her dog to pick up her finished work. She had family take the dog outside and was respectful throughout the interaction but the owner spouted off for at least 20 minutes after this, about how awful dogs are, how they shouldn’t exist, how people can’t read (sign posted on his door indicating no dogs) and pettily posted bigger signage on the door (later removed after he was done making a show of it). The cat got paint on its fur while getting on to an occupied table. The owner got in a small child’s face, pretending to speak to the cat, ranting to the boy about how the cat shouldn’t be in the paint and so on. If you are unable to maintain your composure when non violent / minorly frustrating occurrence happens with your shop animal, it needs to stay away from your clientele. It was my understanding after it being explained to me by the owner, customers leave contact information for the establishment to reach out to customers once their pieces are ready to be picked up. After 30 days “unclaimed” work is sold to the public, after 3 weeks of no contact from staff, and difficulty reaching an employee by phone, I was told that everything in the shop had been fired and is ready for pick up. I’m not sure what happened to their policy about contacting customers when their work is finished but that seems to no longer be the case. I felt unsafe coming back to this establishment alone and brought a man with me subsequent times thereafter to finish my piece. I definitely will not be coming back and have been telling community members about this outrageous experience. Please do not support this business, this guy is a creep and aggressive!!!

This place is pretty simple and pretty fun. You pick a piece, pay for it, paint it, and then they fire it and you get the piece back after a few weeks. I had a blast. All of thr prices seemed reasonable and they have a "abandoned projects" section where you can take a project someone left at a reduced cost. The place was clean and well kept, the gentleman working was very kind, and the overall atmosphere is fun and creative. This seems to be a grest place to go on a week-day date, with a bunch of friends, or something to do to remember a friend by. Cannot recommend this enough.

This is a great place for a couple to have a date. We had a date here this past weekend and it's very chill and relaxed inside. The owner was friendly to everyone there. My girl and I were able to talk while we focused on painting our sculptures and we are super excited to see what they look like when they've been glazed in the oven. Be sure to go with plenty of time to spend so you're not rushing to complete your own project.

A lack of organization from the store meant that the birthday girl didn't get the pottery that she had painted. No one told me, the mom paying for the party, that I needed to write down what everyone had painted. One of the other moms wrote it down after we had left, missing my daughter's sculpture. The owner's response was to read to me the form that the other mother had signed, saying that they didn't have any responsibility.

Grants Pass has limited places for birthdays and events, so I hope that this store stays in business. But I also hope that they organize themselves better so that other parents know what is expected/required in the future. I asked for any details while making arrangements, and was told just come on down. I spent nearly $200 for my kids party, and both she and I are really disappointed that she the item she had painted. ANY instruction or information when we arrived would have kept this from happening.

And yes, the owner did offer me a gift certificate, after I had already left, which I refused. When it's your child's birthday, it's not about the money, it's about the memories. And my daughter has no memento of her eighth birthday party with her friends. And my memories are...

Super cute place but totally disappointed with their staff and turn around on projects this time around, I’ve been here a couple other times and had no problem. I took 2 of my grandkids to paint on September 24, not sure what has changed but the young girl working looked like she had just rolled out of bed and was still waking up, she wasn’t rude but it was apparent she wasn’t thrilled to be there. We painted 3 projects. I called a couple weeks ago and was told by a woman that the 1 larger project ( a lizard) had been separated from the other 2 smaller ones (those were finished) and would be ready soon. It wasn’t that big of a deal but I had to call again this morning only to be told by the man who answered that 2 smaller ones will be coming out today and would be ready after 2 o’clock today. No apology for the time frame or the confusion (a month is a long time for kids to wait) The vibe I got in store and over the phone leaves me feeling like they aren’t too excited about the business anymore and that is super sad because it’s a great...
