This is literally one of the only local places that serves Beef Wellington!
From the moment we stepped into the door until we left it was a fantastic experience. We were seated immediately, our waitress came over right away and was so friendly and sweet, I wanted a Moscato type drink and she recommended a really fabulous one. We knew even before coming in that we wanted the Beef Wellington, and since it was our anniversary we splurged and got 2 of the appetizers - their stuffed mushrooms were big and stuffed! The crab they used was real, and our wonderful server brought us some bread to dip in the butter sauce that the mushrooms were in (which was so perfect). We both tried the soup of the day which was a tomato bisque with a mix of veggies in it and I was not disappointed. You could tell this wasn't from a can. It was thought out since every vegetable that had been added paired quite well with the bisque. With our Wellington's I went with the risotto, and my partner went with the scalloped potatoes, you could absolutely tell the scalloped potatoes were "home made" and not the kraft box because the potatoes were nice and this and packed full of flavor. The portions were huge and we were happily able to take home left overs which reheated well for lunch the next day. The only thing I wish they had added for the main was a vegetable of some kind, like a vegetable mix or something to make it slightly more "well rounded", otherwise there are absolutely no complaints.
Did I mention the cheesecake?? New York Style with a raspberry sauce on top was a delectable balance between the richness of the cheesecake and the tartness of the sauce.
It may not have been a $200 Beef Wellington from Chef Ramsey, but I absolutely would give this warm and cozy restaurant a 10/10 and absolutely...
Read moreHave been here at least 5 or 6 times in the past in which we were very happy. We went recently for our 28th wedding anniversary and WOW! What a difference in service. There "special" was porter house steak which my husband has never had. He ordered it med-rare. I had the new york for $19.99, also med-rare. We weren't given any bread or olives (which they normally do), and our waitress was nearly non existent. The only other thing we ordered was a glass of (cheap wine) each. When presented with our order, the waitress set it down and left. She NEVER came back to see if our steaks were to our liking or not. My husbands steak was extremely rare, fatty & just nasty. Not a good place apparently to have your first porterhouse. My new york looked like it was from Sizzler....1/4 inch thick and well done. I DO understand that most likely they were trying to have them both done at the same time. BAD idea. Also, I might add that this was a Saturday and they were VERY busy. We ate around the edges, and basically put it in a literal "doggy bag". One of the owners approached us & my husband said that it was rather disappointing. We had paid our bill, tipped (generously, as the food wasn't her fault), and he started to almost yell at us! He said we should have flagged him down, as our waitress was busy! We are not aggressive people and he is probably correct that it should have been returned "RIGHT AWAY"! However, his yelling disturbed patrons around us and it was TIME TO LEAVE! I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT!! It was only a statement to let them know it wasn't up to their usual. PS. I wanted to mention that our bill was $78! WOW!! That fatty porterhouse...
Read moreI really hate to say this a good friend had a birthday I wanted to take him out for a really good steak and mashed potatoes he's that kind of guy. I researched different places to have steak and apparently this was supposed to be a melt in your mouth experience. We decided on sharing the special which was halibut. And also ordered ribeye steak dinner mashed potatoes. The halibut would have been excellent had it had not been overcooked. No flavor. The steak was very thin I did only order the 8 oz but it shouldn't have looked like an old piece of shoe leather. The whole reason I was there it was to give this man a good steak dinner with mashed potatoes. When he said to me , "Did they cook the steak in the microwave ?" I felt like an ostrich looking for a hole to stick my head in I was so embarrassed. Another comment was made by him and I kind of agreed and was wondering the same thing. We both had garlic mashed potatoes but they were like grayish Brown and tasted like old potatoes. I will say my waitress was great nice lady the food honestly was very mediocre and I was just disappointed. I can honestly say that I won't be back and I won't recommend it to anyone. And it really makes me sad to have to say that but it's the truth. Maybe it was an off day maybe that was the last ribeye in the house thin flavorless. I really love the salad dressing and they made a pretty good lemon drop. So...
