I never get Starbucks, but I had a gift card. I ordered a decaf pumpkin coffee, because I have a heart condition that makes me sensitive to caffeine. I drink it and think nothing of it. Later in the day I feel my heart throbbing and tightening up, and realized that my coffee was NOT decaf. I told the cashier twice that I wanted decaf, and she repeated it back to me, but in hindsight I shouldn’t have risked it. I hadn’t had Starbucks in over a year, but I won’t be going back, probably ever again. Not only does caffeine cause me pain, but it keeps me up for over 24 hours, ruining my sleep for a week or more. Hopefully I can counteract it with melatonin tonight, but that’s unlikely.
I get that to a random person looking at reviews this may sound like a small issue, but to me it’s a big deal. Decaf means decaf. I guess coffee houses are out of the question for me, because the effect caffeine has on me really is painful and takes a long time to wear off. On a black coffee it’s easy to tell the difference, but in a mix like pumpkin spice the coffee taste takes a back seat to the flavoring, especially when you rarely drink even decaf. You are trusting the people behind the counter to provide what you ask, but it’s a dumb move for me to do that when a mistake costs me a lot.
I am incredibly upset...
Read moreWent into this location around 745pm on Wednesday and the older man working there seemed to be closing up, so I asked are you still open? He looked at me and bit his lip and nodded up and down, but didn’t say anything. So I didn’t want to be one of those people that order 2 minutes till close so I asked again, Are you sure your open? Then proceeded to say I’m wearing a Starbucks apron standing behind the counter so yay, then said if I had a nickel for every time someone asked me this question. So at that point I’m heated from receiving an attitude I’m getting from a 50ish year old man who clearly hates his job and wants out of there. I said well you look like your pissed off that we came in and he didn’t disagree. I placed my order and that was that. I’ve worked in the Service field for many years and I know what it takes to put up with people. But I was given a look and attitude from the moment I walked up to the counter. The man clearly puts his point across that he did not want to be there and made me feel the same. Not someone I would want to be the face...
Read moreI only visited the drive-thru & that was almost 2 years ago now. I do remember that the service was quick and the line moved fast. I had only visited this location hoping to get the special "unicorn frappe" that everyone was ranting & raving over. I had visited 2 other Morgantown locations & they were sold out, so I had high hopes that this location would have it. After entering the drive-thru I saw two different signs stated that they also were out of the unicorn frappe. Since this was the last location near by, I decided to forget the frappe and order something else. This was my first time at a Starbucks ever so the menu was very overwhelming to me. So, I decided to ask the batista what she would really recommend for me that had alot of caffeine in it. I end up was a caramel iced coffee with a double shot of expresso. It satisfied my caffeine fix, but next time I will definitely take a look at the menu online before visiting. Overall good coffee and even better...
