Normally we have good experiences in the store but this last time, not so much. Our son got a bow for Christmas and we live about 2 hours away where we don't have access to a range. He finally got it adjusted and was excited to shoot it for the first time, especially with the 3D targets that are at this store. There was no information about the range on thier website so we called ahead to see costs, if we had to sign up for a specific time or what was needed for us to bring. We also asked what time they closed and were told 7. We came to the store to shoot around 430 and the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted by a manager telling us in a dismissive tone that the range was closed. When I inquired about it, he said, "Oh they normally take the last shooter and hour before the store closes but they close early on Sunday." When we expressed that they didn't say anything about that when we called and how far we drove, he just shrugged it of, didnt directly address what we said, grabbed my son's bow and put a zip tie on it without asking. We didn't have anything else in the store so we decided to just leave. When I asked him if they knew of any other archery ranges around, he said "I don't know of any ranges, I was surprised there was even one here". We understand that he maybe didn't know, but there are so many better ways this could have been addressed. He could have apologized for the representative misguiding us, or our wasted trip. He could have tried to ask someone else in the store if they knew of any or even mention the other Bass Pro Shops or Cabelas in the area with ranges. Perhaps even let us know that he would make sure the staff doesnt make the same mistake again. None of these were mentioned so we left the store feeling dismissed and our son disappointed after being so excited to practice here and sitting for over 4 hours of driving. It's one thing if there is a misunderstanding, but as a manager, at least be apologetic for your and/or your employee's part in...
Read moreJust dealt with your unprofessional and rude firearms department. I purchased a Browning 1911 that would not fire first time out of the box. I had to return it and it had to be sent back to Browning for repairs. I was called today and told it was finally back after almost 2 months. I went to the store to pick iupthe gun within 15 minutes of being told it was ready. I got there and people were everywhere waiting. I went to get a number and there were not any available. After several minutes I finally got a representative to acknowledge me and I informed him I just needed to pickup my gun they had just called me about. I was informed by him that I would have to wait until they worked through all of the numbers that were out before they would put the numbers back out to be pulled. I told him I didn't feel as though I should be waiting through all of the folks shopping since all I needed to do was just retrieve my repaired firearm. I was then told "well that's just to bad". I asked for a manager at that point and waited a while for him to show up only to receive the same attitude towards me, after being told I would be able to just run in and pick it up when you guys called me. After a little persistence on my part the manager went and retrieved my firearm and proceeded to treat me with total disrespect as a customer. When I finally was given the gun ( after he spent forever matching up my signatures to my license like I was an imposter) I told him thank's and of course all I received was the back of his head walking away. Totally unacceptable customer service start to finish. Not only to me, but to everyone who walked up and asked for a number to get in line. Maybe I should rethink as to where I shop next time I decide to buy...
Read moreCustomer service and management are terrible. I am from Florida visiting my family for Christmas. I figured I would treat myself at the same time. Go in, and I get consistently bombarded to join the Club. At least five separate times to join their crappy credit card program. Essentially harassment honestly. Like, leave me alone and let me shop FFS, I give in. I tell them I am here from Florida, I wanna buy a couple of firearms, and they are like yeah! Of course, we can help you! We will save you money on your firearm purchase. I sign up, get the crappy gifts, a couple of hats and a really poor quality knife. Then I go back to the gun counter. Pick out what I want and BS with the sales guy for a bit, but not long. He definitely seemed very hurried, they dont have enough staff in this department. Then I am told they will not sell to me. Didn't sight any specific laws or codes, just basically told me no, because I am not a native Texan. Spoke to a manager, who didn't know basic gun laws. Then I was told I would be given a printout as to what laws are pertaining to my situation. I waited 15 minutes or so then figured out I was getting ghosted by management, so i left. The whole time I told these people, I would abide by a waiting period, background check, and whatever laws that pertain, but was never given the opportunity to even make a purchase. Very much NOT 2A friends here. Shop elsewhere. Mind you, every interaction was done with my Florida ID. So they knew from the start I was...
