If I could give less then one star I would. So, this used to be my favorite thrift store in Grass Valley until two things happened. The first thing is that it has become over priced. The prices used to be awesome now the prices are the same as online so do not bother to go to this store if you are looking for a deal. But more disturbing is that they quite literally will change the price of items at the cash register. It happened to me. When I asked the store to fix the over charge, they issue they refused. Be very careful when you are at the register that the prices do not go up way up ( way up). Also be sure to ask for a receipt ( because when you get home you might be surprised to see a cost way more than expected). If want my advice. I watched the woman working one day single out two grandmother's and their grandchildren, who were extremely kind and we'll behaved I might add, be told "this may not be the thrift store for you." Not only was I shocked by the comment but was appalled at how the employees were treating the children. I have children of my own and can say I would have had a much different reaction than these lovely woman, who silently took the abuse, paid and left. Read moreMy new favorite thrift store This is a small, well-run and well-stocked local thrift store in Grass Valley, CA. They have several rooms where all items (clothes, shoes, dishware, books, decorative items, etc) are $1 each or less. And they are NICE items, in good to new condition. They also have a room of more expensive items, that generally top out around $10. I have found plenty of high-end brands, and useful items for gifts. There is street parking nearby.
