What an amazing pizza!
We’re so excited that this new pizza joint has opened up in downtown Grass Valley. As soon as you walk in, staff is there to greet you into a gorgeous restaurant with a large bar seating area, retro vibes, and colorful decor that is so welcoming.
I walked in with a two-party table on a Friday night, and was seated immediately. But soon after we sat, all available spots, including at the bar, were filled up. Would definitely recommend a reservation for a Friday or Saturday night.
They had a nice selection of wines and beers, and the menu is short and sweet.
We had wine, meatballs, broccolini, and a Bee Thousand pizza. For dessert we had a lemon sorbet.
The pizza was AMAZING! Excellent crust, great flavors, delicious toppings. We absolutely love the broccolini as well, would definitely order that again. The meatballs were really really flavorful and came with a portion of five meatballs. Dessert was tasty, they have big selection of sherbet and sorbet but there were only a couple of options left by the time we...
Read moreFirst time visiting this new spot in GV tonight and all I can say is WOW! We got salads and pizza to go - it was a 20 min wait which is amazingly quick given that everything is made fresh for each order. We tried both salads on the menu - the Ceasar came with lovely gem lettuce and a super yummy homemade dressing that was rich without being feeling 'gloppy'. The other salad was a really interesting mix of bitter radichio, sweet carrots, spicy radish, and crunchy pistachios in a bright citrus vinaigrette. It was so well balanced and fun! The pizza was definitely the star - we had their take on a Margherita. The crust was well seasoned with just the right amount chew and char underneath. The toppings were also just right -this is not an overloaded Domino's type pizza, but a really lovely nod to more traditional Italian pies. My kids DEVOURED their slices and one pizza was definitely enough for 4 of us to split along with the salads. We are definitely going to put this place on our...
Read moreThe best artisan pizza in the county and a nice atmosphere in which to eat it. Make reservations if you can. Otherwise there may be a wait during busier times.
When we were there we saw a young child wearing noise protection/cancelling headphones. That's a GOOD IDEA. I am sure the sound level is above the OSHA guidelines for a safe workplace and certainly too high for people (like kids) with sensitive young ears.
If they can fix the noise level, it would give a couple more stars to the rating. As it is, it is not really a 'date' place since you won't be able to chat each other up! Even our wait person was having trouble, having to repeat him and as us to...
