The Artist Workshop — Local services in Grass Valley

We have painted ceramics at the shop on two separate occasions seven months apart. On the first occasion I got a phone call stating that they were unable to glaze my project and it chipped in the firing process. The second occasion we were told our projects would be done in one week. Twelve weeks later we were finally called and they were ready. Apparently their kiln broke and they were using one at the high school. We went to pick them up and my project had broken. I was told that I could paint another but they didn’t have any in stock. I would not recommend this place. We did a sign painting class with oil based stain and the fumes were toxic and it caused a literal headache. The vinyl stencils ripped and didn’t stick properly and were also stretched out. My $55 sign is botched, and I was told their Cricut doesn’t cut that big. Then don’t offer that size of sign. They said I can make the line longer with some painters tape. Also, don’t use oil based stain or put your employees and customers in that toxic situation without educating them on proper ventilation.
